Oh Yeah…Time To Celebrate Our Favorite Panda Icon

This has nothing to do with the fact that I didn’t get a new ‘toon done.

Yes, We are fast approaching Pinky’s Birthday weekend. Actually, it’s ALL the DC panda kids (except Tai…sorry, dude!) birthday weekend. Bikkie on Friday, Bubba on Saturday, and Pinky on Sunday!

But in other political nooz, it looks like Pinky has picked up an endorsement for 2028…

Could this be the endorsement Pinky has been waiting for? Noted political journalist David Rothkopf* seems to think that the zoo would be a better place to find a presidential candidate more qualified than the Secretary of War Crimes. And who could he have meant by “at the zoo” other than our very own American Smifsonian Icon, that perpetual candidate, Princess Pinky Panda??????

  • apologies to Mr. Rothkopf by dragging him into this debacle. No harm, no foul, right? Your sister likes me.

So let’s revisit some of Pinky’s best (?) campaign moments through the years, as we prepare to celebrate her birthday!

I hope these ‘toons about Bubba as a baby have helped you make it through the day. The rat fuckery that Mittens his doing with the help of his henchpersons is truly mind boggling, rage making, and honestly I don’t know if we are going to get through this.

I’m hoping to finish a new ‘toon for Thursday and then next week will be all Pinky, all the time! Her actual birthday being Sunday, don’t cha’ know!

We are moving into high Birthday Season for the National Zoo-born bears and you know what THAT means!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BISCUIT!!!!

Pinky:…um…wait a minute. what do you mean BISCUIT??? isn’t my beardy first?

Well, actually it isn’t! Your birthday isn’t until the 23rd! Bubba’s is on the 22nd, and Bikkie’s is on the 21st.

Pinky: hmmmph. dis. will. not. stand.

You might remember Frank (aka Mister Poppee) and Mikey went on a road trip right before Bikkie’s first birthday…

…so I will give myself permission to share a few ‘toons from the archives as I had a few other more pressing chores to get to get to this week so did not finish a second ‘toon. Never fear, it is in progress and will appear on Tuesday.

Okay, I’m not really on vacation, it’s just that some days I don’t get the things done that I think I will. Meanwhile, over at the Substack, I posted the whole story of Ping being targeted by the evil ICE. The second installment drops soon today.

But it IS the Panda Birthday Season, and we do have some important Panda Birthdays looming, so I’ll just take a little dive into the archives and pull up a few things!

Behind the scenes, a bit late

It does seem that I am running double speed and still staying behind the times, behind the curve, behind the eight-ball. So, you will forgive me (I hope!) that I share this little behind the scenes look a bit late, at Bubba’s Birthday Eve! I am happy to report that he did not flunk cake this year (huzzah!) but he MIGHT have, if he did not have a little help getting to his birthday bash on time!

Better safe than sorry, when it comes to your Birthday party, Bubba!

Fabulous Furry Friday Celebrates …

AS we are in the high volume part of panda birthday season, we are approaching the birthdays of two of our favorite pandas, Twinkies 1.0, the original, the first in the USofA, the Meihem Twins!!!! How could I ever forget watching their birth on my computer, and the the excitement when I realized we were getting two for the price of one!?!?! Now THAT is something to celebrate !

Of course, to celebrate, we will run TWO weeks of Fabulous Furry Fridays featuring the beloved Meihem twins, before we party like a panda in honor of the Wu Self!

Let’s celebrate and let the good times roll!

Lun Lun Does it Again!

Pandas everywhere are rejoicing!  A new baby panda was born at the Atlanta Georgia Zoo!  Thanks to the dedicated and diligent panda-philes at Panda News, we are alerted to a new  US Panda! (China has taken note and the increased rental bill is in the mail!)  What is of great excitement to all of us at Way Better Than Working, is that this panda is a SCORPIO, which is very unusual for pandas, most pandas being of the Leo or Virgo persuasion.   We at WBTW are in the midst of OUR birthday season, so of course we are extra excited!  What a great occasion for Cake!
