Bebe Maurice will have his paws full trying to get everyone to sit still and pose for this Pawtrait. I hope he can paint fast! The birthday season is barely a week and a half away! And Bikkie is bereft of his Beary Poppins. Will the dashing duo make it in time for the party?

So many moving pieces to figure out! A Mother Panda’s job is never done!

Sorry for the delay in posting. For the last mebbee…I don’t know, 5 years, I’ve done really well posting to a schedule. For some reason I am lately a day late and a dollar short. Yesterday there was a terrible fire in my neighborhood, about 3/4 of a mile from my house. Maybe less. It was really traumatic, because, as you might know, I lost a house to fire about 26 years ago. It is so dry here, and without the fast action of our local fire department (which has been stressed because of the dry weather) it could have been a lot worse for our whole community. All humans and animals are okay. The house not so much.

So, I might be using someone else’s disaster to excuse my tardiness, but then again, I did have to take a walk to see if the woods were on fire. (they weren’t.

So, anyway, Mei is having her own disaster. enjoy!

I wasn’t referring to my tardiness with this ‘toon, but I guess that applies too. What with all the excitement about Frank and Mikey’s family trip, I bet you thought I forgot that BeBe Maurice was coming to visit the DC pandas, and also that Mei Xiang’s sister Lun Lun foisted off the twins, Six & Sebben, on her.

Is that the doorbell I hear?

Whoever could it be? Fun art note, in my rough draft, I just had the doorbell ringing once, but then I thought, how would Mei know that it was Six & Sebben? I think the solution was obvious.

One More Cubby, One More Broken Cute-O-Meter!

Yet again, Mei Xiang has given the world a little miracle! Xiao Qi Ji (which means little miracle) was born last August, completing Mei Xiang’s August trifecta. (I believe Tai Shan, her first was born in July)

Of course, Xiao Qi Ji (aka Bikkie in the Panda Chronicles) has been breaking the internet, not to mention the Cute-O-Meter, since his birth last August. Normally, the cubs have made their public debut in the late winter, but due to the pandemic closing, Bikkie did not make his public debut until mid-May of 2021. He was apparently unfazed by seeing his fans in person.

Perhaps Mei Xiang told him all about his fans, or maybe Pinky and Bubba clued him in via Zoom!

Leave it to Pinky to try and change the subject!

Imagine! I could be taking a nap on the couch, and just when I need to wake up, it would come over and nudge me, bringing me a cold drink and a snack! I realize these inventions are created for people with mobility issues, but what a boon for the laziest among us!!! I think I need another nap! Binky! fetch me a soda!
