Mommee Knows Best

Does Mommee know best? Probably not always, but Princess Pinky has frayed Mommee’s last nerve, and what with Mama Mei Xiang about to potentially bring another bundle (or two!) of joy into the world, it is no wonder she is getting tired of Pinky’s Presidential Shenanigans.

And wouldn’t you know! Pinky has managed to hack into my computer again. I’m not sure that confining her to her room is going to make her behave. Mei is going to have to take her computer away as well.

I’m sure I never behaved this badly, did I? Don’t answer that.

It’s Fabulous Furry Friday, once again, coming to you LIVE from The Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire! Yay! Now that John Stewart has retired, does that leave an opening for the Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire to take center stage in the public consciousness?

Nah, we didn’t think so either, but a bear can dream!

These days, it’s not just news programs and debates where candidates try to get as much air time as they can! Yep, they all strive to get on as many talk shows as possible, so that voters see their “real people” (or is that “panda?”) sides.

And what better talk show is there, than Mehitabel Tonite!?

Pinky’s White House Selfie

Unnamed sources have hacked into princess Pinky’s twidder and insta-pand accounts to steal her personal photos and um…we have uh… “obtained” them and share them here. Is Pinky jumping the gun by taking her photograph HERE????!!!???

You might remember this shocking photo from last week’s post:

I’m sorry, but this seems like Pinky is taking liberties…again!!!

I know you can now take your own White House selfie, but do they let pandidates pose in the White House so they can look more presidential? This seems like an unfair advantage. They might ban selfies with the Pres himself, so does this disqualify Pinky? Hmmm?

Mei should not be getting all excited like this in her condition!

Fabulous Furry Friday!

It’s Friday! and it is Fabulous and Furry!

I had mixed feelings about making any kind of commentary about the ~~death~~ murder of Cecil the lion. I have friends and acquaintances who hunt for food, but killing a living creature just to put his head on the wall seems so very wrong in so many ways. I couldn’t find anything to make a lighthearted cartoon about, because, as John Stewart accurately said after the murder of 9 people in a South Carolina church recently. “There’s just nothing funny about this.” But the pandas all gathered around me, and reminded me of this important concept, and so I did a drawing in tribute to the endangered among us, on two feet as well as four.

And now, on with our regularly scheduled pandas….News from the panda front in San Diego is a little sad, but not totally unexpected. Bai Yun is 24 years old and they decided to give her one more chance to have another cub, as hormonally she was…um…ready. The SDZ folks announced today that Bai Yun is not Pregnant.

I’m sure in some ways, both she and Mr Wu are relieved. The Wu self gets to remain her baby boy forever, and given his attitude about cute cub proliferation, he is probably especially relieved.

Please refer any questions to Mr Wu’s legal team.

Pinky is WHERE??????????

Oh…well, they did say it was okay now to take selfies in the White House.

The parents of daughters never have a really easy time of it, do they?

And one of Pinky’s fan’s who wanted to remain anonymous, sent us this photo that they obtained by following Pinky herself, as Pinky toured the White House with her minions. Measuring for curtains, perhaps? Check with Pinky’s proposed Secretary of Interior Decorating.

Perhaps POTUS is on the phone to Mei Xiang, even as we watch.

It kind of makes sense that it COULD have been the National Zoo Director, as he’s been calling Pinky’s mom a LOT lately. But it wasn’t. So if it isn’t the zoo director calling Mei Xiang, then just who is it?

It’s way, WAY, better than that.

After all, this is now allowed….

F.F.F. Salutes The Wee Wu Self!

*Fabulous Furry Friday salutes the Wee Wu Self! (*Thank you and a cuppycake to Stevi G. for coining that descriptive phrase about the wu self! It’s perfect.)

Since recently we saluted the Meihems on the occasion on their second birthday, This week we will salute Mr. Wu, who is no longer two, or at least Mr. Wu, no longer “wee” is now turning three. Really, the poetry police should be here any minute. Should I give you full credit for this rhyme, Stevi?

I will try to find some Wu-toons that have not been rebroadcast lately, but you know I love the Wu self so much, I show his cartoons whenever I can.

Here are a selection from each of Wu’s adventures, which (beware, advertisement coming) can be found in his very own book, The Panda Chronicles Book 4: The Book of Wu. You know you want it!

Mr Wu’s first adventure with the rascally panda kindergarten, saw him sail the high seas in his little donut floaty. Which is pretty funny, because Mr Wu would avoid baths at all costs.

Yo ho ho and a bottle of boo beer!

And then there was the time Mr. Wu built an airplane (with the help of the panda kindergarten…

Will the panda kindergarten get it put together before Bai Yun gets home?

But once safely on the ground (not to mention grounded for life) Mr Wu’s resolve to not get mixed up with the pandy kindy did not last long…

Mr Wu Goes Rogue

Really, it is getting extremely…um…naughty pandish around here. Princess Pinky is on a rampage, getting on 60 Minutes, being interviewed by Oprah…where will it all end????

And now, Mr Wu, who has always been such a good little panda, at least in comparison to Princess Pinky, is giving unauthorized news reports on ZooNooz. Okay, so Mr. Wu went on a whole bunch of adventures with the panda kindergarten, and all, but now that he’s gotten a good job as Inspector Panda’s assistant, we thought that he would walk the straight and narrow.

Even the real life Mr. Wu has been a bit of a bad boy lately. Taking a page from his brother Yun Zi the destroyer, no doubt!

Perhaps Mr. Wu has been hanging out with Pinky just a little too much.
