The Pinky Defense

What? Being Pinky means always having to say you’re sorry, but…um…rarely doing it. One of my faithful readers from across the pond (you know who you are!) came up with this phrase and I think I’m going to “borrow” it. (I can credit you by name if you’d like, or you can remain anonymous,) but looking back over the last year’s accumulation of ‘toons, I see that, once again, Pinky has hogged the spotlight. So stay tuned early next year as book 8 of The Panda Chronicles goes to print. and I think I’m gonna call it The Pinky Defense.

Because when you know you are in the wrong, is there any better defense than The Pinky Defense?

“It was just a suggestion” Huzzah! It’s the Meihems!

And did somebody mention Book 8 of the Panda Chronicles? Heh! What better time then now to make sure you have books 1 through 7 in your home library. Part Two: A Halloween Carol

Huzzah! It’s time for the second half of that much loved holiday classic, A Halloween Carol! And not only are we in the Trick or Treat season, this month also boasts a Friday the Thirteenth! And it’s TODAY!!!!!!!!

But it’s not even halfway through the month, so next Fabulous Furry Friday we will rebroadcast another of our favorite scary classics, everyone’s favorite, The Wizard of Wu!!! Are you excited now? Maybe this will take everyone’s mind of the Nightmare on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Or Maybe Not. On with the show!!!!

Hmmm… Pinky still does not seem impressed. Perhaps the ghost of Halloween present will have more influence over her.

Uh oh, the ghost of halloween present just caught up with Pinky…

Was that list in small type, single spaced?

The Spirit of Halloweens yet to come is not a spirit to be messed with, right?

Surely you didn’t think she would totally reform, did you?

Wasn’t that fun? I hope nobody got really scared and threw their popcorn all over the room like…um…some pandas might have.

Oh dear. I was so good whilst I was in China, I had scheduled all my posts in advance, and now that I am home, I have not gotten back in the habit. so apologies for this day’s ‘toon being a few hours later than usual. Just in case you thought that you were not receiving the emails!

But! We have a story to continue, so without further ado about pandas…

…In Which Ping Ping Comes to Live at the Panda House

Everyone who is a fan of Winnie the Pooh stand up and wave your hands in the air. Huzzah! Remember when Kanga and Roo, and then Tigger first came to live in the enchanted forest? “Why has he come, and when is he leaving?” were questions that were bandied about by Certain Intolerant Inhabitants of the forest. (italics courtesy of A A Milne) It’s not all that different at the panda house and I’m pretty sure you might have a very good idea who might feel that way.

Exactly.

Let’s look in at the Panda House to see who has arrived now…

Be careful Ping Ping! The Panda House might not be…um…completely safe.

I’m still working on adding all my trip notes and pictures to the site, but re-entry to the real world is taking longer, with more moving parts than I had planned for. Regardless, I hope to get some more posts and pictures posted on the Pandatastic Voyage page this week! Stay tuned!

I also used my entire back log of stored ‘toons while I was in China, so I am slowly starting to do an extra ‘toon here and there so that I am NEBBER late with your weekly ‘toons, because I’m just that kind of bear!

We’ll have more from Ping Ping later this week, as well as the exciting conclusion of A Halloween Carol, starring the junior pandas of the Panda Chronicles! Stay tuned!

It’s Fabulous Furry Friday!

Once again, Fabulous Furry Friday rolls around, to bring you encore presentations of previously shown ‘toons. Why do we do this? NOT because we are lazy and don’t want to write and draw 3 new cartoons a week. Oh No! Okay, not entirely for that reason. (We do have some other projects in the works, after all!)

But as hard as it is to believe, there are some people reading these ‘toons who have not been here from the beginning, and maybe they would like an introduction to all the pandas, who work at The Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire (Putting pandas to work since 2008)

Of course, you could buy all my books and then you’d be up to date, wouldn’t you???

You could say this group of ‘toons comes from the Don’t Say We didn’t Warn You division.

Nope, it just wouldn’t be an Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire fable, without an appearance of the cast on the extremely famous and popular (most popular show ever!!!) Mehitabel Tonite!!! show! Meet the pandas behind the seemingly true to life portrayal of the exciting tale, Being Endangered is SUCH a Curse!! Sometimes it’s hard to know what’s true and what’s not true!

Are we talking about alternative facts again?

Well, no, just a little fiction within a fiction, a tale told on a stormy night to calm little pandas as they listen to the wind howl. A tale to bring tranquility to pandas who are being buffeted by a political wind(bag) the blows evil onto the land.

But enough about the battle between good and ebil! Let’s meet the cast of Being Endangered is SUCH a Curse!

Pinky and the Meihems work things out…

I bet everyone (especially their moms) are breathing a deep sigh of relief that Pinky and the Meihems are managing to work things out. Then there is the small issue of mebbe Bubba glowing in the dark (“just a liddle!!!!”) See? I told you everything would work out okay.

Well, at least in Pandyland they will.

All’s well that ends well, right? RIGHT????

Hey, has everyone heard about the butter sculpture of Justin Trudeau with two panda cubs on his lap? Maybe they can use it to make frosting after the festival is over. Yip and Jip’s second birthdays are just around the corner!

Because who wouldn’t want more cake or in this case, more cartoons about cake and cuppycakes? I can’t think of any self respecting panda who wouldn’t be saying more cake! more frosting! under similar circumstances.

Girls will be girls

Really, Pinky and the Meihems will always be friends, even if their truces seem to be temporary at best. Everyone knows that three girls are a very volatile social structure, especially when two of them are twin sisters. I find it kind of reassuring, that even after all the hubbub at the party, the Pinky and the Meihems can have a nice (mostly) friendly Skype session to rehash the big night.

No harm done, right, girls ???

Everyone knows the party isn’t over till you can sit down and re-hash it!
