The Year in Review! Part 4, The Year’s End…

Before we start on our last installment of the Year in Review, I want to express my thanks to all who made the Tiny Panda Kickstarter project such a success! I am already hard at work making little needle felted pandas. Once all the Kickstarter paperwork is done, and the boxes and other panda shipping materials have arrived, I will start sending each group out as they are completed over the next 4-6 months. Part of me wishes I could have a class photo of all the completed pandas together, but in addition to the packing and shipping chaos that would cause, with the national stress level predicted to skyrocket in the next, oh, say 11 months, y’all are going to need to have these pandas as much as I need to make them.

Maybe next year’s project should be a recreation of the Chinese terra cotta Warriors, done as felted pandas.

Well, the trial of the Century has started. It has the predictable lines drawn: long, careful, evidence packed testimony by the Democratic House Managers, and loud lies and obfuscations by the tRUmp lawyers. The defense straddles between “He didn’t do it,” and “it’s not a crime if he did,” not to mention, “you don’t have enough evidence” (because “we blocked you from getting it.”)

Sigh…

But how did we get here? Let’s dive back into the Year in review! Starting with October…

I can’t believe how accurate these ‘toons have proved to be!

It’s been a long time coming. Hope he’ll be a looooong time gone!

All together now!

If Pinky wins the 2020 election, can we have panda-gate?

On to November…

“crime” is not a verb

Oh no! There are no pandas in this cartoon!

Our favorite grizzlies are doing “The Bus”!

And in December…

Obeying Pinky is not in the Consditooshun!

Not even Pinky is above the law. And if SHE isn’t, then Mittens sure as heck isn’t either!

Aaaaaannnddd I think this pretty much sums up the Senate Trial as well:

A bear can dream, am I right?

I think Bubba is almost as good a speaker as Adam Schiff!

So, That’s our year in review! We hope you enjoyed this look back over the last 12 months and really (really) hope we survive the next 12!

Panda On!

The Year in Review Part 3

Two notes on things other than the year in review posts:

First, I was alerted to an excellent newsletter by Heather Cox Richardson, writing about the legal  and political issues of the day, in a very readable, clear manner. (In other words, if I can understand what the hell she’s talking about, pretty much anyone can.) I highly recommend subscribing to her news letter. If nothing else, maybe it will keep me out of the Twidder trenches so I can get some work done. We’re in for a wild ride, panda fans! Here’s to hoping we all survive it!

Second, my Tiny Panda Kickstarter is going swimmingly! It ends this Friday at 5 PM PST, so if you wee thinking about getting a tiny panda (or two) of your own, this is the week. There are still several panda rewards available, and should you want more than one there is both a two panda reward, or you can add another panda to the reward selected. Just message me here via the Contact Us form, or the Kickstarter message system.

Now! On with the Year in Review for July, August, and September!

Frank and Mikey return with excellent advice for hikers!

Don’t (*snorf*) look like food!

Another reminder of why “president” Mittens must not only be impeached, but also removed from office.

*snorf*

Pinky and her new minions get down to serious business

On to August… This seems topical!

Made by the same highly scientific company as the Cute-o-Meter!

Don’t get mad. Get even.

Even elephants are tired of the GOP’s shenanigans!

September! The back to school month!

It does not pay to be late! You don’t want to flunk cake again, do you, Boo Boo?

Another reminder of why the Senate needs to vote to remove…

Mittens: a disgrace to cat-hood

bears will be bears!

See ya next week with some new ‘toons and the wrap up of our Hold Me Closer Tiny Panda Kiscktarter!

The Year in Review Part 2

Before we dive in to our Year in Review encore presentation, can I just say OH MY FRIGGING GOD!!!! The tiny panda (Hold me closer tiny panda) Kickstarter reached its goal amount 13 minutes after launching. I am astounded with gratitude for this response. It also was listed as a Kickstarter Project We Love most of the day on Friday. Needless (or needle-less) to say, I have a lot of felting to do over the coming months. If you are afraid you missed your favorite panda, check back at the project, because I added some more reward categories!

Thank you again, from deep within my heart. I can’t wait to get these pandas to you! (After I make them of course!) This has the added benefit of getting to visit the Abundant Earth Fiber store again, which may now be called my happy place!

But now, on with the Year in Review for April, May, and June (Wherein we are reminded of why we need emotional support pandas!)

it was a total coincidence that Babette’s ‘toon should run today.

Moove over! You’re crowding me!

Look who’s here!

On to May!

If you go out in the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise!

Irony is dead:

Who could have done this????

Did I just see what I thought I saw?

June is in ‘toon…

Bwahahahaha!

Frank and Mikey make another return appearance!

So, Mikey…how was the Grand Ol’ Opry?

And let’s not forget Six and Sebben!

Will these two ever get along?

Well, that’s it for today’s wrap up! See ya real soon!

Panda on!

The Year in Review Part One

I did warn you I was going to do this. It will be instructive (not to mention profoundly depressing) to look back both here in panda satire, as well as in the real world (or the reality world…whatebber!) and see where we started 2019!

So in January…

Look out Bubba! Pinky is trying to get her paws on Banky Pig!

But Bubba had a plan!

That Ping Ping is a clever liddle bear, isn’t he?

Meanwhile, a vision of that which was to come…

Mittens did WHAT??????!!!!????

On To February!

The Government shutdown, orchestrated by HWMNBN started in December, and still continued into February, heedless of putting 100’s of 1,000’s of people out of work. Or was it millions?

Dis. Will Not. STAND!!!!!

I see trouble in my crystal ball…

Even Nancy Pelosi listened enthusiastically!

But Time Waits for no Panda…onto March!

March brought us the presidential candidacy floating of yet another unqualified billionaire, this time a purveyor of double-half-caff-frappacino-with-skim-whippy-cream-and-sprinkles, claiming that the obvious disdain for his proposed presidential run, was a sure sign that the people wanted him to do it. Fortunately, he fizzled out (bad back, my behind!) and he has receded to the obscurity he deserves.

“Hey! I’m still back here!”

The people have spoken!

And then there was the return of everyone’s favorite grizzlies…Frank and Mikey!

“We are NEVER going to get our security deposit back!!!”

If you enjoyed our first Year in Review installment, you can search the archives in the sidebar and read the full stories that we have highlighted here! And while your in the sidebar, you can also look at what we have to offer at Redbubble in our Buy Stuff With Pandas feature!

31 Days of Pandas: Day 23/ September Year in Review

Oh my! it is Christmas Eve EVE! time to swill down some egg nog, finish that last minute shopping, and get ready for the final episodes of Pinky in Wonderland! Do we know what is going to happen? Well, SOME of us do!

But you’re just going to have to wait and see, won’t you?

And now, let’s continue with everyone’s favorite game show, Name that Personality Disorder!!!!

Someone forgot to take their meds today, I think.

Lock that cat up, for crying out loud!

You can dress him up, but you can’t take him out! Um…maybe you can’t even dress him up.

Yep, that old Mittens…he’s SUCH a charmer!

This was one of my favorite stories of the year. The lions paved the way for Frank and Mikey, the grizzly bears who…um…allegedly ate a Supreme Court Nominee.

Ooooooo-oooo-oooo-we have food tonight…

Here kitty kitty…nice kitty…

“We just want to talk!”

Did I just spill something on my new outfit?

Be a sneaky panda!

31 Days of Pandas: Day 22/ August Year in Review

Here we are, reliving the dog days of August. Not that we really have those in the north woods that the pandy kindy and I call home. August is the most perfect month of the year in western WA. The days are still long, warm, and sunny, the nights are cool, but not too cold. This is what the fuss is all about.

And speaking of fuss…

Oh, boys!!!

Zhennie's wild adventure

All’s well that ends well!

And now, for a most appropriate game show, what with all that is happening in the OTHER Washington!

Just how crazy do we think it’s going to get?

Next to Mittens, we all look pretty normal, don’t we?

Panda like it’s 1999!

31 Days of Pandas: Day 14/Don’t be an April Fool!

Yes, it’s Fabulously Furry Friday, once again and being in the middle of 31 Days of Pandas only makes it more FABULOUS! Oh, what a year it’s been, but now the doors of your Indictment Advent Calendar are springing open faster than we can keep up! Who will be the next to sing a song of woe and treason?

Only the “Bob” knows for sure!

April Fools Day has always been my favorite holiday. I know I already ran this one, but I thought, given the latest indictments, it was worth repeating.

I loved this story line, because Bubba got to be the star (at least till Pinky showed up.)

long goodbye

The Long Goodbye, or “Toronto Farewell”

our story

Mommee pandas have laser vision. Don’t even think you can hide, Bubba.

There’s always time for another cupcake!!!

So THAT’S how Pinky got there so quickly!

I wonder what this button over here does….AAAAAHHHHHHHH!

I’m pretty sure Pinky got everyone home safely, because you know what else happens in April…

Tax

The only sure things are Pandas and taxes.

The year’s insanity also included some inanity.

truth

Foxxy “News” lies like a rug.

truth

Pandas COULD bite your head off if they really wanted to.

When the truth is found…
to beeee lies….

Let’s keep Pandaing on, shall we?

31 Days of Pandas: Year in Review: March

March came in like a panda: sleeping half the day, and spent the rest of the time looking for Cuppycakes. It was also the month of the annual Pandamonium Panda Convention, this time in beautiful PanDiego!

Let’s see what the pandas rustled up in March!

panda convention

Babette and her many admirers, at a Panda Convention dinner party!

Some things never change…

Well, she does have a valid point…

2018 saw the publication of another Panda Chronicles Collection, featuring none other that Princess Pinky! (Pinky sez you might want to give them for ALL your holiday gifts!)

Don’t ignore Princess Pinky! #ClapLouder

This was one of my favorite ‘toons of the year…

Well *bleep* and take your *bleep* and stick it *bleep*!!!!

I think we all need a little emotional support these days…(That’s why they invented six-packs of cuppycakes)

Yes, Pinky. I’m sure Mr. Bun IS emotionally supportive!

This ‘toon took on even more personal significance this fall when a gunman entered The Tree of Life Synagogue and killed 11 people, and shot and injured someone I know. Thankfully he has survived, but 11 others that day were not so lucky. Several of the brave responders were shot as well. When is enough, enough? I’d say that day came years ago.

March4Life

WE will accept NO support from the NRA

I know this is supposed to be the March edition of The Year in Review, but it kind of went with the previous ‘toon, theme wise!

April Fools Day has always been my favorite holiday

Hey! Don’t forget to get this book!

Isn’t this just perfectly pinky?

31 Days of Pandas: Year in Review: February

Welcome to our Year in Review for February! Let’s see what was happening back then…

I really hate it when I’m right about stuff…

In fact, not only was as bad as we thought it would be, it was worse.

But there are always a few bright spots…

Aw, Pinky…Bubba loves you!

All that practicing for the Olympics really paid off, don’t you think?

Skate faster, Boo boo!

Four pandas are better than two.

The world swoons….

Tune in tomorrow as we march towards March!

Panda-ing Down Memory Lane….

We continue with our Year in Review, because, quite frankly, we got up on the wrong side of the den this year, and we are feeling a bit like those bears that hibernate really have the right idea.  We could just go to sleep for a while, and when we got up, it would be spring, and maybe we would be in a better mood than we are now. so, to cheer ourselves up a little, here are some more of our favorites from 2011!

panda on rocking horse

That one was inspired by some of my favorite videos of the year, of panda kindergarteners on plastic rocking horses. A definite mood enhancer!

And how could we have resisted the story of Mei Lan, the first born panda of Zoo Atlanta , who, it was discovered when she was 5 years old, that she was a he!

Mei Lan, Atlanta surprise

See you tomorrow, in a better mood, we hope.
