It is day one of 31 Days of Pandas!

Are you excited? I know I am! I am excited for so many things! First, 31 Days of Pandas is my excuse to go full panda for an entire month. Secondly (and very importantly,) the socks are on their way to me even as we speak! The folks down at Pin Game Strong are great to work with. One of the many kind things they do, is to send pictures of the finished items as they receive them, before sending them on to me.

What could be better than wearing pandas on your feet?

I should have the socks in my hot little paws by Tuesday afternoon. My goal is to get them packed and shipped by Friday. There are about a half dozen people who have not responded to their invoices yet, so if you are one of them, please check your spam folder to see if the invoice is there, and pay the PayPal invoice promptly. I won’t be shipping unpaid orders. I’ll send out another reminder on Monday.

Another thing I am very excited about is my new shop on Redbubble!

We hardly got to know you…

I know everyone is still feeling very sad, at the departure of our “little bear”. It has been bittersweet, what with all the posts on Twidder and Fezbook of Bubba when he was weally widdle. Hopefully, another round of ‘toons of Bubba’s childhood along with the trials and tribulations of being the little brother to an international super star and Smifsonian Icon, will make everyone just a little less sad.

Thanks for all who posted the pictures of him in his new home. I really loved the BFX base. We spent 2 days there visiting pandas. The yards are large (at least as large as Bubba’s yard back home) and full of mature trees. From the pictures, it looked like many of the trees in his yard did not have tree guards, so he gets to do his favorite activity, climbing. While he had a similar reaction as Pinky had to his first introduction to panda bread, he seems happy about all the bamboo shoots!

And then there was the day he had to figure out what to wear for his debut…

I know this Sunday will not be Fun Day in our nation’s Capitol this weekend. (And not just because the powers of good are trying to keep the powers of evil from prevailing) The actual Bei  Bei is leaving for China this week, and there will be lots of wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments in the pathways around the Panda House until then.

The dilemma before me when each panda cubby boards the plane, takes their seat in Panda Class, has their first glass of champagne and then flies off to the land of pandas, is do I follow the story line of the young pandas leaving home? I did when Yun Zi left Pandieggo, but I was not a panda watcher when he was a baby, and so, I let him go back to China.

Not so with the cubbies who came after him…

Don’t trouble me with reality. All the pandas who appear in the Panda Chronicles aren’t going anywhere. But here are some of my favorite Bubba ‘toons to help get you through the week…

…Something more innocent than the current Nooz cycle, that is! (inky can hardly be described as innocent!) When the current occupant (occupier?) of the White House behaves like a pouting toddler, we need some junior pandas to raise the level of discussion.

Where will it all end? I have no idea, but I will keep drawing pandas as long as I can!

For those who are wondering (you were, weren’t you?) I have decided not to do another round of pins and patches before the end of the year. I find I have not nearly enough year left, or energy to add this into the rest of the year. Never fear, I have so many ideas and I really want them to come into being, so the pin/patch project will return after the new year.

That said, I do still have inventory of all the previous pins, including some slightly less than perfect pins that I can sell at a lower price. So, if you want to do a little holiday shopping, feel free to contact me via the Contact Page.  (This is the most reliable method, as FB and Twitter messages can get lost in the shuffle, and don’t even think about asking via a comment thread. The likelihood of me seeing that is less than 50%!)

I’ll try to get things packed and shipped out to you as soon as I can. I usually go to the post office once or twice a week. (I am not Amazon!)

How did it ever get to be September? I just can’t imagine how August slipped by with hardly any notice. One of these months I need to completely block out my calendar and stay in bed for a week and read books and eat toast.

Meanwhile, I think it’s time to share our Salute to the Canadian Pandas, because…well, just because!

You know what we do on Sundays! We rummage through the archives looking for fun ‘toons to share with you again! TBH, sometimes I get an idea for a ‘toon theme when I’m out and about doing stuff, but by the time I sit down at the compooter, I’ve forgotten it already. Actually, I almost forgot what I was writing in the middle of this sentence.

But it’s Pinky’s Birthday season (and BUBBA’S!!!!!) so, it seems like we could still replay some of Pinky’s greatest hits!

So, away we go!

Breaking Nooz! Hao Hao of Pairi Daiza in Belgium has given birth to twins. So far, all is going well. They look very round (yay!) and the twin switching seems to be going well! Congratulations to Hao Hao and her entire team and family!

…Now, it seems like there is another Panda Bearday coming up right around then, but I just can’t remember who it is….Heh!

Shark week, minion week…it’s all the same at The Panda Chronicles! After our brief interruption in service earlier this week, which resulted in no one being able to see the site, we were saved by our new web host and guru over at The Digital Reader. For someone like me, who has a tiny bit of tech knowledge, riddled with vast chasms of ineptitude, someone who actually knows what they’re doing and responds quickly to problems is a good thing indeed!

Meanwhile, Pinky has new minions, but let’s take a trip down memory lane as we recall her minions from her last presydential run!

The fogs of August are almost upon us, and while Congress goes on a six week vacation, (seriously?) the rest of us wish that we could do the same. But there is no escaping the relentless wave that is going to come upon us, and of course, by that, I mean…

Pinky’s cubpaign for President! Um…what did you think I meant?

I don’t think this crew of minions is going to be quite as devoted as her last ones.

Wasn’t it nice of Six and Sebben to come up with this brilliant cubpaign slogan? Those who signed on to Mr. Wu’s Kickstarter campaign will be getting one of these, but I’m guessing there will be a few extra. Stay tuned to learn how you can get one for your very own!
