Oh boy, oh boy! It’s time for another episode of Bears Behind the Wheel, starring your favorite grizzly bears, Frank and Mikey! Several attentive readers alerted us to this story about a vacationing family in Tennessee, and of course we were powerless to resist the urge to write a new ‘toon (or two) about it!

I mean who can resist stories about BEARS?!?!?!?!

The worst thing is the bears always reset the radio preset buttons and change the seat position!

The panda is political…

Every once in a while, someone will send me a message or comment saying that they can no longer read my ‘toons because “it’s just too upsetting, how political they have become.” I try to take a deep breath and calmly explain the history of cartoons (political), the rights of the artist to determine the content and style of our own work, and then we get to pandas….

And I have to remind/inform/exclaim that pandas are the most political animal, and most politically used animal in existence. Panda loans (and before them gifts of pandas) are used to curry favor, or reward the recipient. It’s really a pretty simple concept. You are nice to us? We will let you have a couple of pandas. Oh, but all the kids are ours, and that will be $1M a year to rent them, bamboo and cuppycakes not included.

But could pandas be up to something more sinister?

Bwahahahaha!

I just received an email yesterday, with pictures of the Bubba and Ping pins, which have just landed at Pin Game Strong. I’ll have them in my hot liddle paws by the end of next week, and then packaged and off to YOU, the following week! Read on to see the pictures they sent me of the pins!

But meanwhile, since this is Bubba’s turn at fame (settle down, Pinky!) …(oh and don’t forget Ping!) It only seems fair that we feature some of Bubba’s ‘toons from the archive this week!

What can I say? I’m an undisciplined naughty panda who drew an obnoxious Faux News “host” getting nailed by 300 pounds of elephant poo. So far, there is not a law against that. I’m not saying that there won’t be a law sometime (soon!!!!) in the future when drawing unflattering pictures and situations of all the “president’s” men won’t be punishable by prison, but for the moment, I think I’m safe!

We solemnly swear, by all that is Pinky, that we will never  (well, hardly ever) write or draw anything this tasteless again.

Um…we might have had our fingers crossed behind our backs.

We were afraid that the more crimes were revealed, the more the current occupier of the WH would become dangerous. Make no mistake, HWMNBN and his evil spokes minions are pulling out all the stops.

I mean, when you have an entire TV network repeating and magnifying your message, how can the rational part of the country counteract the misinformation?

Well, that headline could include just about anything with the panda kindergarten, or true stories with bears. (Not to mention Princess Pinky!!! Need I say more?) Several of my very alert readers, Sarajane E. and Barbara B. sent me a link to this story about an entire family of bears behaving badly! Hmmm…I wonder if Frank and Mikey were the bears involved? Stay tuned! I’m sure that is soon to be a story that ZooNooZ will be covering!

I just saw a picture of the Bubba and friends patches, one of the rewards for my recent Kickstarter pin (and patch) project! They look BOOTIFUL!!! They won’t arrive until the pins do, and hopefully, they won’t be too much longer. meanwhile I’m trying to get all the addresses (So is you haven’t filled out your survey, please do!)

But Pinky is still at work at her newest fundraising endeavor!

Oh! Were we? There was recent news about the scandal with the folks over in New Jersey (The Sopranos State!) and how maybe somebody closed a bunch of lanes of the Fort Lee Bridge back in 2013. They basically (successfully, although not necessarily truthfully) pinned the deed on one of the governor’s trusted staffers (a woman, surprise, surprise) and of course, she is going down for the deed, although she’s still fighting. I say good for her.

The original news story inspired this series of ‘toons, starring young Pinky and the Meihems! Enjoy!
