31 Days of Pandas: Day 15

Yes, yes, you’re a Lebowski, I’m a Lebowski…so what? Oops. wrong line. I’m late, I’m late, so without any further ado…

Babette de Panda: I have got to get some new minions!

Sometimes 31 Days of Pandas gets the better of me… Not to mention the power outage.
More tomorrow!

31 Days of Pandas Returns!

Here we go with days 12, 13, and 14, delayed by the windstorm and power outage (which was finally over at about 1 AM this morning) that commenced Thursday evening, of December 11th. All is well here at headquarters of The Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire. Well, now it is, anyway. The sun is shining and it was a lovely day to go out and move fallen branches from the yard and driveway to spots that are less inconvenient for them to exist in.

But enough about you and your problems, I hear coming from the cheap seats. Where are all these panda cartoons that you were allegedly working on by candle light while you had nothing better to do, since you couldn’t check your twitter feed ad infinitum?

OK, OK, already. Here’s the next episode of The Case of the Picturesque Panda:

Oh, Inspector Panda! What a surprise!

Oh, Inspector Panda! What a surprise!

And for those of you who follow the antics of Bob T. Panda and his Junior Panda Friends on Facebook, you may have seen a notice that Princess Pinky has something dastardly in mind, to perhaps skew the voting in the Giant Zoo Panda Awards.

Pinky, I thought we agreed you wouldn't do anything naughty.

Pinky, I thought we agreed you wouldn’t do anything naughty.

This will not stand!

This will not stand!

A big pandy thank you to all of you who have ordered books this month. Remember, I will make a donation to Pandas International for each copy of Pandamorphosis or any of the Panda Chronicles series books that you buy this month, so now’s the time to buy, buy buy!

We’ll be back sometime tomorrow with the next episode of Inspector Panda and then I have a special Holidays with Pandas surprise (that just popped into my head a few days ago!) Huzzah!

See you tomorrow!

Day 11: 31 days of Pandas

The panda kindergarten (with the impressionable young Mr. Wu in tow) is speeding towards the exciting conclusion of The Case of the Picturesque Panda, but we are going to stretch this out a bit. BwaHaHa!!!!! And as one of our faithful readers has commented, “the only thing scarier than a panda driving a car and not looking where he’s going, is a panda driving a car not looking where he’s going and eating a cuppycake!”

So, on with the show! Not to mention, 31 Days of Pandas!

Look out for that car!

Look out for that car!

Don’t you hate it when the driver turns around to talk to someone in the car while they are speeding down the…um…sidewalk?

See you tomorrow for the Friday cliffhanger. Bwahahahaha!

Day 9: 31 Days of Pandas

and more from Inspector Panda…or at least the pandy kindy, erstwhile art historians and…um…daredevil drivers!

what could be better than small pandas driving cars?

what could be better than small pandas driving cars?

And now, a word from our sponsor, WOOZPPAH! Did you know that the elephants were going to be leaving Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo? So, enquiring bears want to know, “why not pandas?” Pandas are cute and cuddly, and bring smiles to the faces of everyone who sees them. Well, maybe some grouchy people might not like pandas, but I bet if they spent some time looking at pandas, they wouldn’t be so grouchy, would they?

Here are the main points we would like to share with the-powers-that-be-at Woodland Park Zoo:

1. The Western Washington climate is perfect for pandas!
2. Bamboo grows really, really well here. (just ask someone whose neighbors planted it on their fence line.)
3. Edinburgh Zoo also has limited parking in a residential neighborhood, and they have created a timed ticket reservation system so that a regulated number of panda fans can visit each day.
4. Pandas are cuter than any other animals.
5. I would buy a membership and so would a lot of other people.
6. Panda tourism!
7. um…Pandas!

I’ll be writing more about this in days and weeks to come, but it’s never too early to start asking the zoo, “why not pandas?”

Woozppah!

Woozppah!

yes!

yes!

Day 8: 31 Days of Pandas

Inspector Panda is back, and he’s loaded for bear! I can’t believe I used that joke, and actually, while the esteemed Inspector Panda’s story The Case of The Picturesque Panda has returned, those rascally darlings of the art history department, the panda kindergarten, has seized center stage, with Mr. Wu along for a very wild ride! But the very Inspector Panda will be along shortly.

Of course, we need our omniscient narrator to bring us up to date. It is Monday, after all!

Let's ride like the wind! Away, pandas, away!!!!

Let’s ride like the wind! Away, pandas, away!!!!

Huzzah! Princess Pinky has inserted herself into the narrative, but who will protest? Not I, not I.

31 Days of Pandas: Day 5

Oh the suspense is building! The Case of The Picturesque Panda is rocketing to it’s dramatic conclusion sometime this month! (We don’t know exactly when, because, quite frankly, we really don”t know entirely where this story is going.)  But one thing you can be sure of, there will be pandas, cuppycakes, and at least several cases of bears behaving badly!

As we near the end of our first week of 31 Days of Pandas, we are happy to report that we are not yet behind in our panda-ing to the masses! We hope that if you are enjoying these comics, that you will share them with your friends, whether you tweet them, post on Facebook, or print them out and *chase people down in the grocery store and don’t let them leave until they read them all and tell you how funny they are, or until their ice cream starts to melt.

(* I’m kidding about this, don’t get arrested, ‘kay?)

Hmmm...it seems that Babette de Panda has enlisted some hence-pandas. They look just a liddle bit familiar...

Hmmm…it seems that Babette de Panda has enlisted some hench-pandas. They look just a liddle bit familiar…

And while this is the season to…um…buy stuff, consider that prints from our book, Pandamorphosis would make a lovely gift (for others, as well as for yourself).  16 different images are now available in several sizes from The Gratitude Gallery of Fine Balance Imaging.  They have all of my available images on their website on my very own page. (And they are very nice people!)

What would YOU wish for?

Inspector Panda will be gathering his thoughts over the weekend, but will return on Monday with the next installment!  Stay tuned tomorrow for the scandalous expose` of one of kiddie lit’s most beloved characters!

31 Days of Pandas: Day 4

I know, I know, you’re thinking “WTF! Why are we only getting one panel a day of Inspector Panda? Sometimes we got two, or even THREE!!!”  Well, if you think about it, with only one episode of Inspector Panda per week when it’s not PanDaWriMo, you would only be getting two panels per week and now you are getting five! Just saying, OK?

Well, actually no one has said any such thing.  Nevermind. :o)

And now, on with today’s show! We don’t call it 31 Days of Pandas for nothing!

And just who is that sneaking a peak from under the curtain?

And just who is that sneaking a peak from under the curtain?

Meanwhile, yesterday was “Giving Tuesday” when everyone was supposed to reach deep into your wallets or your well of compassion for others, and give to the worthy cause of your choice. I am a little disappointed to say that fans of Panda Satire did not flock to Amazon and order piles of my books, for which I was going to make a donation to Pandas International. I’m not trying to make you feel guilty, because that doesn’t usually get the desired effect. (right mom?) But unlike much of life, you are going to get a second chance. For any order for the entire month of December for any of the Panda Chronicles Books or for Pandamorphosis, I will make a donation to Pandas International.  Just follow the handy link to my book page and click on through to Amazon or Createspace. They make great gifts!

Huzzah!

See you tomorrow!

It’s PanDaWriMo Eve!

I can’t believe it’s finally here!!!!!31 Days of Pandas! PanDaWriMo! Pandapalooza! Whatever you want to call it, it means a new panda cartoon or story installment every day! As things stand now, my plan is to do an installment of Inspector Panda’s story, The Case of the Picturesque Panda, every day, Monday through Friday, with something a little different on Saturday and Sunday.

Coming up this Saturday and Sunday, is our take on a news story that came to our attention this week, a scandal created when a popular bear from children’s literature is implicated in a bit of impropriety. Stay tuned, for The Truth about Pooh Bear: Why a Polish Playground thinks he is inappropriately dressed!

Meanwhile, here, to introduce 31 Days of Pandas, are some of your favorite inhabitants of The Panda Chronicles! Take it away, Mehitabel!

No, I don't think so. Bwahahaha!

No, I don’t think so. Bwahahaha!

We hope you will tune in for our daily pandas, and then …um…head over to our Panda Chronicles: The Books page, and order a copy (or 5) of all of our Panda Chronicles compilation books, not to mention Pandamorphosis! It’s the best way I can think of to support the work of The Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire. And they make lovely gifts, as well! And it’s not to late to order Panda Satire Christmas cards from Pandas International! Help Bob help real pandas by supporting the work of Pandas International!

See you tomorrow!

Oh My Gosh a new cartoon!

Yes, we have been, um…running all “encore presentations” these last several weeks, but that’s because we are getting ready for 31 Days of Pandas, our annual exPandaGanza, with new pandas every day!!!! It really doesn’t get better than that, now, does it?

But pandas must be free, and Pinky let us know in no uncertain terms that she wanted a new cartoon about HER, and we better snap to, if we knew what was good for us.  So what could we do? Would YOU risk making Pinky mad, especially if she has her magical wand in her possession? I think not.

So, let’s get on with it!

Never say "no" to Pinky!

Never say “no” to Pinky!

Meanwhile, it is the season for giving thanks and giving help to those who need it, we give thanks to our favorite organization, Pandas International for all that they do for pandas. If you’d like to send holiday greetings with a panda satire flair, check out the Pandas International store where you can find these cards!

It's beginning to look a lot like pandas....

It’s beginning to look a lot like pandas….

And get ready for “Giving Tuesday” when we will be donating a dollar for every Panda Chronicles or Pandamorphosis book ordered from Amazon on Tuesday, December 2nd. what a great way to do your holiday shopping with pandas, and send a gift to actual pandas, besides! Remember, without pandas, there could be no panda satire!

Now pass the pumpkin pie and whipped cream! Huzzah!

What Does a Panda Wear for Halloween?

I mean, do they dress up as a red panda? or maybe a tiger?  This is serious, people! Pandas need to know what might be the best costume so that people give them the most stuff.  Halloween is important to panda culture. who knew?

Princess Pinky really needs to know!

Darn those Meihems!!!!

Darn those Meihems!!!!

I do want to mention that I drew this cartoon before I read the Cub Confidential post from Zoo Atlanta suggested that the twins were going to dress up as the other twin.  Just saying. The Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire has their finger…er…paw on the pulse of the panda community.

And Pinky has asked me to mention that her book is out, and you could just flip really fast through all the cartoons about the Meihems, so that you could just read the ones about Pinky. Hey, I just do what Pinky tells me to. Word to the wise, and all, Pinky must be obeyed.

It's Pink, but still kinda, um...dangerous!
