It’s Fabulous Furry Friday, once again, coming to you LIVE from The Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire! Yay! Now that John Stewart has retired, does that leave an opening for the Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire to take center stage in the public consciousness?

Unnamed sources have hacked into princess Pinky’s twidder and insta-pand accounts to steal her personal photos and um…we have uh… “obtained” them and share them here. Is Pinky jumping the gun by taking her photograph HERE????!!!???

I know you can now take your own White House selfie, but do they let pandidates pose in the White House so they can look more presidential? This seems like an unfair advantage. They might ban selfies with the Pres himself, so does this disqualify Pinky? Hmmm?

It’s Friday! and it is Fabulous and Furry!

I had mixed feelings about making any kind of commentary about the death murder of Cecil the lion. I have friends and acquaintances who hunt for food, but killing a living creature just to put his head on the wall seems so very wrong in so many ways. I couldn’t find anything to make a lighthearted cartoon about, because, as John Stewart  accurately said after the murder of 9 people in a South Carolina church  recently. “There’s just nothing funny about this.” But the pandas all gathered around me, and reminded me of this important concept, and so I did a drawing in tribute to the endangered among us, on two feet as well as four.

And now, on with our regularly scheduled pandas….News from the panda front in San Diego is a little sad, but not totally unexpected. Bai Yun is 24 years old and they decided to give her one more chance to have another cub, as hormonally she was…um…ready. The SDZ folks announced today that Bai Yun is not Pregnant.

I’m sure in some ways, both she and Mr Wu are relieved. The Wu self gets to remain her baby boy forever, and given his attitude about cute cub proliferation, he is probably especially relieved.

It kind of makes sense that it COULD have been the National Zoo Director, as he’s been calling Pinky’s mom a LOT lately. But it wasn’t. So if it isn’t the zoo director calling Mei Xiang, then just who is it?

It’s way, WAY, better than that.

Shark Week at Pinky’s Pond

This past week was Shark Week on TV. It’s some big anniversary year for the movie Jaws, the movie that caused more loads of laundry than…oh…never mind. I don’t even watch TV, but you can’t step foot into the inter webs and not be bombarded with posts about Shark Week.

So be it.

Anyway…Princess Pinky’s minions are celebrating Shark Week in their own unique and adorable way. So…um… does anyone know if there are actually strap on shark fins available for smart-ass swimmers? Just wondering.

Fabulous Furry Friday Salutes Selfies

How time flies! This week the Tour de France has begun. Personally I think those bike riders are all nuts: three weeks of grueling cycling in hot weather, up mountains and down treacherous roads. And if that’s not bad enough, then there are those stupid people stepping out to take  selfies:

And yes, there is the occasional idiot who thinks selfies with a tiger would be a really cool thing to post on Fezbook.

BTW: a recent report on NPR revealed that you can now take photographs in the white House. Hmmm, do we think a small panda might try to take a selfie in the oval office, just to, you know, see what she will look like in there?

I think I really need to watch some more panda videos. I am completely stressed out over this hacking business. I thought I had gotten the overlay bug out of my system, but now it is back again. How am I supposed to run for president using MY blog as a platform, if Pinky is over-riding everything from her command center?

Pinky has a plan, and you can be sure that it will be something that gives her mother heartburn. What can I say? Pinky marches to the beat of her own salsa band, and nothing you or I (or her mother) say will make her toe the line.

I think I got the bug out of my computer that was altering my header graphics. Now we shall see if I have my firewall defenses adequately beefed up so that Pinky can’t get back in and change things!

I wonder what the minions’ mother thinks of Pinky’s influence on her children? Oh well, not my concern! Tra la, tra la!

A new report from panda nanny extraordinaire Nicole McCorkle reveals that while Mei Xiang may be doing a little decorating around her den, we shouldn’t start knitting booties for the new arrivals just yet. Pandas are notoriously coy when it comes to revealing if they are actually pregnant or not.

Therefore, it is time for our favorite show…Mei Watch!
