God Rest Ye Merry Gentle Bears: Day 24: 31 Days of Pandas

Well, I was going to wait until tomorrow to share this ‘toon’s tune with you, but Mr. Badger pointed out that Christmas Eve is the time more associated with singing Christmas carols, so, in order to encourage you to add this parody of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen to your repertoire, I share it here, both in the ‘toon (which is abbreviated both by space and by the fact that the 4th verse came to me after I’d already drawn the ‘toon) and in the unabridged text so you can print out the words and share it with your caroling friends!

I know I am way too MEAN, to have two stories with scary bits and a whole lot of suspense going on at the same time. Well, all I can say to that is…

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ahem….

But! As promised, today, I bring you all the final chapters of It’s a WUnderful Life, so then you’ll only have ONE story to be worried and apprehensive about. Well, one panda story and the debacle in DC, where the GOP has just decided to take most of your money, your healthcare, and anything that is happy and give it to very wealthy people. Unless you are a very wealthy person yourself and then will you take me for a ride on your private airplane? Ahem.

But enough about the fall of Democracy and the desecration of the Constitution… Here’s the next episodes of It’s a WUnderful Life!!!

Speaking of Pinky, book editing and formatting is well underway for the next exciting Panda Chronicles Book release! I hope to have everything done by the end of the year, and then the uploading and approval process starts, so hopefully, I will have it ready by the beginning of February. A quick update

Several people contacted me today because they know I live in Western Washington. I was no where near the terrible accident that happened on the Seattle-Portland Amtrak route. (I’m not ducking blame, just wanted you to know that I am safely at home.) It must have been a horrifyingly scary event. The pictures send major chills up my spine. I know many people who travel the stretch of I-5 daily, as well as people (myself included) who regularly take the train from Seattle to Portland. My thoughts are with the people who were so terribly injured and frightened by this accident. The pictures are chilling.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wu learns what life would be like if there were no more baby pandas…

What part of “you don’t exist” didn’t you get? Ha ha! I love that line!

You won’t like this, Mr Wu!

Those darn cats! I really hated this part of “It’s a Wonderful Life” too.

WE are tumbling head over paws towards the end of the year, the shortest day of the year, and Christmas too! The pandas have been working on a special Christmas Carol that they are eager to share with you. I think they will have rehearsed enough by Christmas. Hee Hee.

Day 15: 31 Days of Pandas

A happy (if late) Fabulous Furry Friday Day 15 of 31 Days of Pandas!

The weather was too beautiful to stay indoors yesterday, so I did not get today’s post set up to launch in the wee hours. A beautiful day in mid December is a precious thing and ought not to be wasted!

You should also know that I am hard at work on compiling Book 8 of The Panda Chronicles!!! Huzzah! Since my process of writing and drawing the ‘toons is a bit by the seat of my pants, I always need to take some time to rearrange the actual physical cartoons into the order which they really should be, as opposed to the order they popped out of my head. All of my writer friends will tell you it’s all in the editing and revising.

Next week, we will start with that favorite Holiday Classic, It’s a WUnderful Life, starring Mr. Wu and Bee, the Bear, as the Christmas angel who shows Wu the error of his ways. But now, let’s dip into the ‘toons of last year, in honor of Doug Jones’ win in Alabama! Maybe all is not lost after all!

As I compile this post, Alabama voters are going to the polls to decide whether they want to elect the #Trumple candidate or...GASP!!!! a DEMOCRAT!!!!! All I can say, is that with the moves toward voter suppression in black and Democratic districts, it is unclear if this will be a free and fair election. I only have one thing to say about this: If you have to cheat to win, it’s not really winning, is it?

But meanwhile, baby pandas are in peril! Let’s go to the next episode of…

Day 12: 31 Days of Pandas

We’re not even halfway through the month, so there are many more pandas to come!

This is a good thing, because we need LOTS of distractions this month. Between the disaster tax bill (email or call your Congress folks and ask them to vote NO!!!) the slide into the darkest days of the year, and all the craziness in the news, we need all the laughs we can get.

On top of all the nonsense coming out of our nations capitol, recent news of the illness of one of my long time panda fans and supporters has been on my mind. ALS is a devastating disease for which there is no cure. If it seems strange to be concerned about someone I’ve never met in real life, consider this: the people who read my ‘toons here and in books, and who frequently comment here or in conversations on Twidder and Fezbook, have become real to me. They have become real friends.

I’ve gotten to know them through our conversations in these cyber meeting places. They share pictures and stories of their lives. They cheer me on in my various Kickstarter projects. They have embraced these funny panda characters that have sprung forth from my head and they believe in them. They believe in me. I am so very honored and grateful that you come here and tell me that the day’s ‘toon lifted your spirits, or made you sad, or pushed you to the edge of your seat in anticipation of the next episode.

So, Sandy H, if you are reading today’s post, please know that I have been grateful for the time you’ve been with me. I’m glad you have your family and puppies close at hand to see you through this. You will be missed.
