How NOT to start a Kickstarter campaign:

Wait till the absolute last minute to start actually setting up your project
2. Figure “I’ve done this so many times before. I have the items designed, what could possibly go wrong?”
3. Hit a technical glitch within the Kickstarter site.
4. Go to sleep and hope it will be fixed by morning
5. Glitch has not self corrected. Send request for help to Kickstarter support.
6. Get no response from Kickstarter.
7. Send another request to the help line.
8. Get no response.
9. Troll Kickstarter on Twidder (heh) but (mostly nicely. (mostly)
10. Send another desperate email to help line.
11. Kickstarter fixes glitch.
12. Launch project from phone, without sending out sufficient notice, late on Friday afternoon.
13. Send out the same ‘toon you sent out yesterday, announcing the ACTUAL launch of the project, as opposed to the one announcing it yesterday, when I was not actually able to launch.

Get Ready…Get Set…NOT YET!

I think we are almost ready to launch our new Kickstarter Pin Project, featuring, the one, the only, the irresistible Real Wu Self! At noon today PDT, we are planning to be ready to launch. Despite the fact that I am a bit behind on this, due to several circumstances beyond my control, and a rather overwhelming need to take naps the last couple weeks, I am approaching readiness for this project!

Important Update!!!!:

Due to my lackadaisical attitude that “Oh, I’ve done lots of projects and they always confirmed my set up really quickly” I still don’t have all the clearances I need to go ahead and launch Wu’s project tomorrow. I’m hoping that approvals will magically take place over night and I will still be able to launch at my scheduled planned time of Noon, Thursday June 27, but if I can’t, then I will keep you posted! For those who supported the last 2 projects, I can send out messages via Kickstarter, and for the rest of you, I’ll post an update here, Twidder, and Fezbook. Sigh…that’ll learn me!

That’s a quote from one of my favorite writers of all times, the late Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and many other books. And alas, I have missed a self imposed deadline. 🙁

I had hoped to be ready to launch the next series of pins and patches today, but one thing an another (I lost 2 weeks due to an unavoidable and unexpected trip) has kept me from this meeting this deadline. I’m trying very hard to get everything up and running for Thursday June 27th instead, so stay tuned! I’m close to ready, with a few more things to do, and get my project approved by the Kickstarter folks.

…FREEDOM GAS?????

Ahem…You Know Who just officially “launched” his reelection campaign, although how you can tell it from his business as usual, I just don’t know. Mr. Badger suggested that I not listen to the news any more, so that my blood pressure doesn’t shoot through the roof, and I don’t have nightmares about the concentration camps at the border.

But if I did that, I wouldn’t have heard this story to make fun of (because we DO need an extra dose of humor in our lives, especially at times like this!)

What’s that smell? Could it be…The smell of FREEDOM??

The end of something wonderful…

Did I scare you? I didn’t mean it was the end of The Panda Chronicles or anything like that. I meant that it is the end of boo shoot season, the favorite season of pandas everywhere. I read that Zoo Atlanta had announced the end of the season, when the wonderful fresh bamboo shoots were no longer available.

I imagined myself to be a fly on the wall of Six and Sebben’s hammock room…

Let’s listen in, shall we?

In about a week and a half, I will hopefully be ready to launch another Kickstarter project! This time it is all about the Wu Self and of course, the pandy kindy! If you missed your chance to get Ping Ping and Bubba’s pins, don’t despair! I have more pins available! Those who ordered through my Kickstarter project are already starting to receive their pins! It makes me happy to think of Bubba and Ping hopping out of the envelope and racing around your houses. They’ll be hungry, so be sure to have some cuppycakes on hand!

But now, let’s get on with the Wu self! Huzzah!

And I bet you are happy to see that Little Mr. Wu is safe and sound!

Pinky is at it again!

Back when I was freshly out of college, I had moved up to Western MA, and worked in a variety of restaurants, while trying to keep painting. The split shift I usually worked, didn’t leave a lot of time for painting on work days, so I fell into watching soap operas during my several off hours. The Young and the Restless was one show I remember.

But in Pinky’s case, it should be The Young and the Relentless!

Watch out, Bubba! Pinky is on the loose!

It’s Sunday Funday Again! Nobody Expects the Panda Kindergarten!

I’m all ready to send more panda goodness out into the world on Tuesday! The lists have been checked (multiple times) forms for overseas packages filled out, packages labeled and sealed! Summer feels like it is already here, in the great Northwest, which makes me want to go outside!

The panda kindergarten is getting ready for summer vacation and the pandas who are graduating from the Putting Pandas to Work program are prepared to take their new positions!
