More Celebrations of Pinky! (and Bubba!!!!!)

I am a bit under the weather here, but today I was able to drag my sorry, fuzzy butt out of bed and prepare today’s Celebration of Pinky! I’m sure that a good dose of Pinky will be just the medicine I need, what with outrage and laughter being known as the best medicine. Who said anything about outrage? Well, have you listened to the news today?

Update on Kindle books: One of my alert readers just let me know that amazon will honor previous purchases for the lower price Kindle book if you’ve already bought the print version via Amazon. I hope to have them all uploaded by the end of this month! Personally, I am a print book fan, but so many people who commute or travel enjoy having them to take with them as an ebook. Enjoy!

…Pinky in Wonderland! I bet you were wondering when I was going to get back to this, but what with Bebe Maurice’s birthday, Zhen Zhen’s big adventure and, oh…I don’t know, the collapse of civilization as we know it, I just got the tiniest bit off track! I’ve been out and about peddling my fine art wares in various places too.

But what about Pinky???? Pinky has fans! You can’t just neglect her!!!!

And we haven’t been! in addition to fine arting around, I have also been preparing to release the Panda Chronicles books as ebooks! Now, I am a print kind of person. I like books. I like reading them, I like the smell and the feel of real books. But over the years, a number of people have asked me, “Whhhhyyyyyy can’t we have ebooks toooo!?!?!?!?” Well ask no more, your dreams are about to come true! I’m still in the process of getting the books set up, but since it is Pinky and Bubba’s birthday month, I thought I should get those ready first, so that we could have…

As I mentioned before, Book 7 (Don’ call mee boo boo) and Book 8 (The Pinky Defense) ebooks are now on sale for $2.99 for Pinky and Bubba’s birthday month. Also, if you haven’t bought the print editions yet, you can also get the ebook along with the print edition for only $.99! TBH, I don’t know if this is retroactive for people who have already bought the book, but if anyone wants to try, let me know, okay?

I am slowly getting the other books set up as ebooks (partly because Amazon finally made it easier (not easy, just easier) to convert the print PDF into an ebook without having to jump through a lot of hoops or pay someone hundreds of dollars to do it!) and I’ll keep you posted as to the progress!

Yes, we are in the fogs of August, here in the other Washington, and you know what that means! It’s Pinky’s (and Bubba’s) birthday month, so we will be featuring ‘toons about Pinky and Bubba all month long!

Huzzah!

But first, a poem, by Pinky, to celebrate the occasion:

Thirty days, has September
Why dis is, i can’t remember.
august is da monf of ME
its days number thirty three.

boo boo says dis isn’t true
but what does his truth have to do
wif princess pandas such as me,
cause i need at least thirty three

days to celebrate my birth,
because i know what i am worth.
two more days a monf dan dem,
da monf dat brought us such meihem!

oh, an’ also cuzzin wu
a minor monf, july, it’s true.
so hurry up an’ buy me presents
an’ dose cards dat you has sent us.

boo boo says it’s his monf too,
but i am sure dis can’t be true.

Today I went to the arts and craft store in my town, and as I was making my purchase, we discussed this adorable fabric with pandas, and the young woman waiting on me said she liked pandas too, so I gave her one of my yourbrainonpandas cards, and she said, “OMG! I read Your Brain on Pandas all. the. time! I have some of the books! I’ve been reading them since I was 13!”

Made. My. Day.

Just goes to show you. You never know the reach of your art. Keep doing it!

A few months ago, it was revealed that San Diego’s former panda princess, Zhen Zhen, aka Zoomie, was allowed free access to the wilder world, in hopes she would bring home a nice panda boy from a fine family. Or something like that.

This weekend it is Mr. Wu’s 6th birthday! Because everyone’s first baby panda, the one you watch from the moment they were born, the one you saw in person when he was only 8 months old (even if he slept through most of my visit), that baby panda will always be special. He was the only panda born in the US in 2012 and so, he did not have to share the stage with any US panda cubs for almost an entire year, with the arrival of the Meihems!

Who can forget Mr. Wu’s declaration: Dis. Will. Not. STAND!!!!
