31 Days of Pandas: Day 5

Oh the suspense is building! The Case of The Picturesque Panda is rocketing to it’s dramatic conclusion sometime this month! (We don’t know exactly when, because, quite frankly, we really don”t know entirely where this story is going.)  But one thing you can be sure of, there will be pandas, cuppycakes, and at least several cases of bears behaving badly!

As we near the end of our first week of 31 Days of Pandas, we are happy to report that we are not yet behind in our panda-ing to the masses! We hope that if you are enjoying these comics, that you will share them with your friends, whether you tweet them, post on Facebook, or print them out and *chase people down in the grocery store and don’t let them leave until they read them all and tell you how funny they are, or until their ice cream starts to melt.

(* I’m kidding about this, don’t get arrested, ‘kay?)

Hmmm...it seems that Babette de Panda has enlisted some hence-pandas. They look just a liddle bit familiar...

Hmmm…it seems that Babette de Panda has enlisted some hench-pandas. They look just a liddle bit familiar…

And while this is the season to…um…buy stuff, consider that prints from our book, Pandamorphosis would make a lovely gift (for others, as well as for yourself).  16 different images are now available in several sizes from The Gratitude Gallery of Fine Balance Imaging.  They have all of my available images on their website on my very own page. (And they are very nice people!)

What would YOU wish for?

Inspector Panda will be gathering his thoughts over the weekend, but will return on Monday with the next installment!  Stay tuned tomorrow for the scandalous expose` of one of kiddie lit’s most beloved characters!

31 Days of Pandas: Day 4

I know, I know, you’re thinking “WTF! Why are we only getting one panel a day of Inspector Panda? Sometimes we got two, or even THREE!!!”  Well, if you think about it, with only one episode of Inspector Panda per week when it’s not PanDaWriMo, you would only be getting two panels per week and now you are getting five! Just saying, OK?

Well, actually no one has said any such thing.  Nevermind. :o)

And now, on with today’s show! We don’t call it 31 Days of Pandas for nothing!

And just who is that sneaking a peak from under the curtain?

And just who is that sneaking a peak from under the curtain?

Meanwhile, yesterday was “Giving Tuesday” when everyone was supposed to reach deep into your wallets or your well of compassion for others, and give to the worthy cause of your choice. I am a little disappointed to say that fans of Panda Satire did not flock to Amazon and order piles of my books, for which I was going to make a donation to Pandas International. I’m not trying to make you feel guilty, because that doesn’t usually get the desired effect. (right mom?) But unlike much of life, you are going to get a second chance. For any order for the entire month of December for any of the Panda Chronicles Books or for Pandamorphosis, I will make a donation to Pandas International.  Just follow the handy link to my book page and click on through to Amazon or Createspace. They make great gifts!

Huzzah!

See you tomorrow!

Day 3: 31 Days of Pandas…

…and I’m not behind YET, but it was kind of close! I thought I’d get ahead during November, while I was bringing the Inspector Panda saga up to date, but alas…I took a vacation instead. I’m pretty sure that was a good thing. Tis the season to be exhausted after all.

But now, there is no time to lose! We must follow Inspector Panda as he leads us into the den of the mysterious and perhaps devious Babette de Panda!

Oh where, oh where, will Inspector Panda Find Babette, not to mention Mr. Wu and the panda kindergarten art history squad?

Day 2: PandaWriMo and Giving Tuesday

… from Inspector Panda!

Today has been decreed Giving Tuesday (really, who comes up with these names for things?) and putting my curmudgeonly leanings aside, I’m pretty sure that it is always better to give than receive (really?) especially when you are giving to pandas! With this in mind, I am donating $1 to Pandas International  for each copy of the Panda Chronicles series books and Pandamorphosis that sell today, December 2nd, 2014.  It’s a great excuse to stock up on any of the Panda Chronicles books you might not have yet and buy them as presents for all your friends and relations! I appreciate your support and so do the pandas.

After all, without pandas, there could be no panda satire.

And now, we continue with…

The Case of the Picturesque Panda!

This case is not what it seems....

This case is not what it seems….

And for those of you who are looking for something really special for the panda lover in your life, prints from Pandamorphosis are now available through The Gratitude Gallery of Fine Balance Imaging on beyootiful Whidbey Island! Who could resist these pandas?

Who could resist pandas in the refrigerator?

Who could resist pandas in the refrigerator?

16 images in a variety of sizes are available! Check them out today!

See you tomorrow, and thanks for being generous bears! If Pandas International is not your cup of Boo Tea, think about who that might be, and give what you can, whether it’s your dollars, your time, or your kindness. The world needs lots more of the latter two.

Recap Lucky #13

Yep, today is the last day of our recaps for The Case of The Picturesque Panda! We will be relaxing tomorrow (well, actually, we will be madly trying to get a day or two ahead for 31 Days of Pandas) so no post tomorrow. Sunday we will return with a brand new cartoon for you, my loyal fans! Huzzah! Monday begins the new episodes of The Case of the Picturesque Panda, which I think will run Monday through Friday, with a variety of other cartoon features on the weekends.

There were certain pandas, who we shall not name, who protested a feature that they were not the star of, being run every day. I think you get my drift and know to whom I refer.

And without further fanfare, here is the last recap of:

Recap #12 We are Thankful…

…that this is the next to the last recap of our story so far, The Case of the Picturesque Panda. But a little gratitude about a few other things is in order, so here goes:

I am thankful for my friends who have encouraged and supported me all these years, in all of my many creative pursuits, even when they thought I was being a little nutty (pandas). I am thankful that there are still pandas on the earth, and while I wish there was more undisturbed habitat for pandas to live wild and free, I am glad there are safe places for pandas to live among the people who love them, with all of their needs taken care of. I am thankful that so many people have found my cartoons and stories amusing or entertaining or life affirming and even that these bits of panda silliness help them survive the hard and sad events that are a part of everyone’s life.

I am grateful that I met my dear friend Jude Bulman, and that I was one of her many friends who loved her and depended on her to help them with all sorts of stuff. The world is a grayer place without you and I need pandas more than ever. Wherever you are, I hope there are pandas there too, and that they are making you laugh.

And now, on with our story:

Recap #11: Eat your weight in Cuppycakes

Okay, I’m not really going to do that tomorrow, but on the other paw….

We are almost all caught up with Our Story so Far. I hope you are getting excited about PandaWriMo (otherwise known as 31 Days of Pandas) and the continuation (and hopefully the conclusion of The Case of the Picturesque Panda.

Here’s the next episode!

Recap#10 PandaWriMo approaches!

Yes, it is the month we all wait for all year long, Panda Satire Writing Month, also known as PandaWriMo or 31 Days of Pandas! Huzzah! It is the month when all panda satire writers (I’m sure there must be others, aren’t there?) pull out all the stops and it’s panda, panda, panda all month long.

But before we bring you the next episode of The Case of the Picturesque Panda, we’d like to bring to your attention again, that next Tuesday (one week from today, in fact) has been declared “Giving Tuesday” (don’t ask me who declared this…probably the Associated Amalgamation of Organizations) and our charity of choice is Pandas International. (well, duh!) Buy any of our Panda Chronicle series books or Pandamorphosis from Amazon, and for each book purchased on Tuesday, we will donate $1 to Pandas International.

Because (wait for it) without pandas, there could be no panda satire.

And now, on with our story!

And who gave Pinky her wand back?

And who gave Pinky her wand back?

Does Pinky know too much?

Does Pinky know too much?

You just knew that Princess Pinky would weasel her way into this story, didn’t you? Well, you have not seen the last of Pinky! We will finish our recap this week on Friday and on Sunday bring you a brand new cartoon (I swear!) and so begins PandaWriMo! Huzzah!

Until tomorrow,

Recap # 9: Our story so far

Oh we are getting close to the beginning of 31 days of Pandas and…um…I am hoping to have a spurt of energy in the next couple days…Hmmmm….we’ll see how I do.

Meanwhile, here is the next recap of our story so far.

Will Mr. Wu be safe with the panda kindergarten? And just what's with that tape, anyway?

Oh My Gosh a new cartoon!

Yes, we have been, um…running all “encore presentations” these last several weeks, but that’s because we are getting ready for 31 Days of Pandas, our annual exPandaGanza, with new pandas every day!!!! It really doesn’t get better than that, now, does it?

But pandas must be free, and Pinky let us know in no uncertain terms that she wanted a new cartoon about HER, and we better snap to, if we knew what was good for us.  So what could we do? Would YOU risk making Pinky mad, especially if she has her magical wand in her possession? I think not.

So, let’s get on with it!

Never say "no" to Pinky!

Never say “no” to Pinky!

Meanwhile, it is the season for giving thanks and giving help to those who need it, we give thanks to our favorite organization, Pandas International for all that they do for pandas. If you’d like to send holiday greetings with a panda satire flair, check out the Pandas International store where you can find these cards!

It's beginning to look a lot like pandas....

It’s beginning to look a lot like pandas….

And get ready for “Giving Tuesday” when we will be donating a dollar for every Panda Chronicles or Pandamorphosis book ordered from Amazon on Tuesday, December 2nd. what a great way to do your holiday shopping with pandas, and send a gift to actual pandas, besides! Remember, without pandas, there could be no panda satire!

Now pass the pumpkin pie and whipped cream! Huzzah!
