All Pandas Eve and a Scary Story

I am fortunate to live in the rainy Northwest, rather than fire swept California. My heart and good wishes go out to the thousands of people who have lost their homes and businesses from the fires that spread across northern California last week. Those who have known me for a long time know I have my own fire story, which happened 22 years ago last month. It was a scary event. I don’t know that I ever truly processed what happened, but I was traumatized for a long time.

I recently stumbled on the account of one man’s recent brush with fire in the California disaster. But this account was done in comics form, as he is a graphic novelist/comics artist. Here it is, in case you’d like to take a look. I hope someday I can do as well with my own story.

But meanwhile, we have another kind of scary story to tell!

Oh dear. I was so good whilst I was in China, I had scheduled all my posts in advance, and now that I am home, I have not gotten back in the habit. so apologies for this day’s ‘toon being a few hours later than usual. Just in case you thought that you were not receiving the emails!

But! We have a story to continue, so without further ado about pandas…

…In Which Ping Ping Comes to Live at the Panda House

Everyone who is a fan of Winnie the Pooh stand up and wave your hands in the air. Huzzah! Remember when Kanga and Roo, and then Tigger first came to live in the enchanted forest? “Why has he come, and when is he leaving?” were questions that were bandied about by Certain Intolerant Inhabitants of the forest. (italics courtesy of A A Milne) It’s not all that different at the panda house and I’m pretty sure you might have a very good idea who might feel that way.

Exactly.

Let’s look in at the Panda House to see who has arrived now…

I’m still working on adding all my trip notes and pictures to the site, but re-entry to the real world is taking longer, with more moving parts than I had planned for. Regardless, I hope to get some more posts and pictures posted on the Pandatastic Voyage page this week! Stay tuned!

I also used my entire back log of stored ‘toons while I was in China, so I am slowly starting to do an extra ‘toon here and there so that I am NEBBER late with your weekly ‘toons, because I’m just that kind of bear!

Pinky and Bubba’s birthday week continues!

There are sooooo many ‘toons about Pinky and sooooooo many ‘toons about Bubba (Pinky: AND PINKY!!!!!!) that I thought this Friday’s wrap up should be about…guess who!!!! It’s about to happen! The moment of truth! The forces of good and evil are gathering and an epic battle is about to take place, right here in our nation’s capitol!!!! Um…I mean in the halls of the Kingdom of Pandalanta. Please excuse my confusion. It was an honest mistake, right? Something is going to hit the fan any minute now, and everyone is running for cover, lest they get splattered with you know what.

Actually, this could be true for either place, couldn’t it? But let’s continue with our feature presentation…

Let’s get ready for Bubba’s (Pinky: and PINKY’S!) Birthday Season!

Oh yes, it is panda birthday season now and it’s in full swing! But two of the stars of panda birthday season have birthdays in just a few more days. Last Friday we saw some of Pinky’s greatest moments and now it is Bubba’s turn!

But first, we have just returned from secret talks in an undisclosed location!
