2012 Preview continues!

Oh, the pandas are busy this spring!  Here are some more of the exciting stories we will be covering soon!  I would also like to jump about and clap my paws with glee ( which produces a kind of muffled, fuzzy sound) because there have been over 21,000 views of the Panda Chronicles!  Huzzah!

The panda kindergarten: bringing chaos the world over!

We can’t tell you how sorry we are not to be at Pandapalooza at the San Diego Zoo this year,  but we will be there in spirit, and start making plans for next year.  (maybe with a book???)  We did send along a few goodies for prizes at the conference.  I hope YOU are a lucky winner!

The 2012 Preview!

Well, here at the Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire, we have big plans for 2012!  I thought it would be a good idea for the Panda Chronicles  to let you know what is in store for this year. Here is the first of the 2012 previews!

We’d also like to give a Roll of Honor shout out to Sue F. and Lucilla T. for alerting me to the Cuppycake ATM (with sprinkles!)  I sure wish that there was one around here! Huzzah!

I’m sorry, but the party you wish to speak to is all tied up…

The panda kindergarten is "busy" ...can you call back later?

We at the Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire have long been big fans of Lynda Barry.  While she may not have invented the use of “inappropriate quotation marks,”  she excels in their use.  As I see it, she uses them to shift the meaning of a word or phrase to be more ironic, or to emphasize the word’s inappropriateness.  How cool is that?  I also have always loved how she shines a light on the demeaning jobs that most artists take at the beginnings of their career.  Lynda, you are da bear!

Meanwhile, back at the panda kindergarten,  Mehitabel has gotten her …um…revenge on the panda kindergarten.  But don’t worry, they are working their way loose, even as we speak!  Prepare yourself for Bob’s presidential campaign, more of Babette‘s travels (Italy!!!!!), the 2012 Panda Olympic Games, and Panda Idol, the new Reality TV show about pandas that is sweeping the nation!

Till next time, Be the Bear!

Kitten escape! The story continues!

Before we get to our feature presentation today,  I’d like to give myself and all the pandas (AND MEHITABEL, didn’t you mean to say?)  a quick pat on the head because we are less than 300 visits away from reaching 20,000 visits to The Panda Chronicles.  I don’t know what this means in the real world, except that maybe you, dear reader, are coming back again and again and telling your friends, or mentioning it on your blogs.  So whatever your doing, thanks. Be the Bear!

Run,kitty, run!

A big thanks and a Roll of Honor entry to Linda M. for her suggestion relating to cats and toilet paper!  You da bear!

Mehitabel eludes the panda kindergarten…but for how long?

Mehitabel's great escape....

We last saw Mehitabel being carried away as hostage to the panda kindergarten, who, in their own misguided way, were attempting to inspire people to sign on to the cartoon boss’s Kickstarter proposal.  Several people signed on, but not nearly enough.  Fortunately for Mehitabel, it distracted the panda kindergarten so that she could make an escape.  But this is no time to relax!  They are still after her!  Can Mehitabel outrun the panda kindergarten?  Will she reveal her hiding place after the insult of being called “Mr. Kitty?”  The saga continues.  4 days left to support this worthy project!

And now, to be completely serious….no, really.

Note: No cats were actually harmed during the making of this cartoon, although they definitely were offended.

Yes it’s true, I am not a cartoon panda (sorry if I’ve surprised or disappointed anyone)  and I really do have a Kickstarter project that still has a long way to meet my funding goals in only 7 days.  I usually don’t cross pollinate my blogs, or the different parts of my creative life, but I’m making an exception here.  Please check out my project at the following link.  Even if you can’t help, maybe the extra traffic will encourage the folks at Kickstarter to give me a little extra exposure, so please visit and recommend to your friends and readers, if you see fit.  Here’s the link:

We now return to our regular scheduled silliness.  You are all the Bears for following the Panda Chronicles.  It’s thanks to you all that I am about to reach 20,000 visits!  (or maybe my brother visited 20,000 times?)

Ok, NOW it’s Fat Tuesday (or is it Pudgy Wednesday?)

We could hardly keep Babette‘s feet on the ground, once she realized that, not ONLY has she been nominated for best panda in a short feature film, (Your Brain on Pandas: The Movie)  but that she would lead the Panda Krew in the All Panda Fat Tuesday celebration in New Orleans!  We apologize that our footage of the festivities was unavailable yesterday, but it seems that we had some technical difficulties which prevented us from showing the film yesterday.  Without any further delay, Here is:

All Panda Fat Tuesday!

Procrastination is a many splendored thing…..

Hey, remember oh, a month or so (or so…) ago and TheRubbe gave me the versatile blogger award….well, I did part of the required dealy-bobs you have to do, thank the giver of the award, tell 7 things about yourself that the bloggosphere doesn’t know, and then pass the award on to 7 more people.  Well, I kept putting off granting the award to more people, which, like my usual response to chain letters, drops it dead in it’s tracks. Part of my procrastination had to do with I wasn’t sure if there were 7 blogs that I follow, and then there is all the technical stuff of looking up their addresses and putting them on the blog and contacting them and blah blah blah.

Not nearly so much entertainment as playing with the panda kindergarten.  But fulfilling these duties is part of that which makes the blog world go round.  Some of the things I like about this place is that:

1. People accept me as a cartoon panda. (HA HA!)

2. I’ve connected with people who are cartoonists or writers or just interesting and those connections feel real, not virtual.  Maybe that is an illusion, but it is a comforting one, nonetheless!

3.  I have insinuated the word “cuppycakes” into common usage.

Is that cool or what
So, Here is my list of blogs that I recommend, with perhaps a short note about why I like them.
