Wuoops! Hold on to that panda!

Mr. Wu is growing up, and if last weeks videos have shown us anything, it’s that Mr. Wu has a lot of potential to be a fully contributing member of the panda kindergarten.  Never before have I seen a panda cub get a horsie ride from mom!

Oh that panda kindergarten!

Oh that panda kindergarten!

Wunderful Wu’sday!

I just can’t resist!  Wu is the perfect panda child…precocious, plump, and poofy! (not to mention immanently cuddlable!)

After his brilliant debut a few weeks ago, and the discovery of his newfound talent for choreography, it was high time Mr. Wu gave a press conference, wouldn’t you think?

Thank you all for coming! Buy my book here!

We expect great things from Mr. Wu! And for those of you who have become addicted to Mr. wu’s appearances here, never fear!  As long as Mr. Wu continues to be cute (and, like, is THAT ever going to stop?  I don’t think so,) we will bring his antics to you here, at The Panda Chronicles!

Stay tuned on Friday, when we reveal secret HISTORICAL panda photos!

A special “Wu Saturday Post”

The incomparable Doxiemom Pandamonium sent me this link to one of her videos starring the fabulous Mr Wu, playing with his leaf.  This is where Mr Wu, an up and coming choreographer, got his idea for his composition “Dances wif Weaf” Mr Wu is one of the youngest pandas to participate in the “Putting Pandas to Work Program” which trains young pandas for useful employment once they graduate from panda kindergarten.  Here’s the link.

And here’s my cartoon that was inspired by this video, in case you missed it:

"Wu calls his dance, 'Ode to a Weaf' "

Woot, Woot, it’s Wednesday, and that means Wu’sDay!

Like every other panda fanatic in the country …no, the world, I can’t stay away from Mr. Wu and his vast repertoire of adorableness.  The other day, the incomparable Doxiemom Pandamonium of the most honorable society of panda fans posted a video of Mr. Wu playing with a leaf.  I did this cartoon as a tribute to both Mr. Wu (Wu!) and his esteemed videographer.

"Wu calls his dance, 'Ode to a Weaf' "

“Wu calls his dance, ‘Ode to Wu’s Weaf’ “

Hopefully when he gets a little older, he won’t talk about his cute Wu self in the third person.  Stay tuned into to this station…um..I mean blog, for more Wednesday adventures of Wu!

Well, my scanner issues are solved for the moment, though it was not without wailing and gnashing of teeth…the solution is temporary and I think I will have to take my trusty desktop (still running tiger, tiger) but I can scan for now! Huzzah!

So, here are the last two days cartoons, scanned so you can see all that little fine rapidograph line work that makes my drawings so very …um…very.

Day One of 31 days of Pandas! Huzzah!!!!!!

Well despite the fact that I was at my first book launch party ever, put on by those fine folks at The Rob Schouten Gallery, I came home and got to work finishing my first cartoon of 31 days of Pandas!   It is a “kinder and gentler” cartoon than usually appears on these pages, but I have been spending…um..a bit of time (do NOT ask how much time, because I’d probably lie about it) watching the newest San Diego Zoo Panda cub, who has just turned 4 months old this week.

This little guy has his picture in the dictionary, as an illustration of the word cute, so how could I not give him his own feature cartoon?  So, without further ado, here’s Little Mr. Wu!

"Howdy do! I'm Mr. Wu! Who are you?"

“Howdy do! I’m Mr. Wu! Who are you?”

Be the (incredibly cute) Bear!

Bob T. Panda

PS: if anyone asks, I did NOT eat ALL the cuppycakes at the book launch party, OK?
