2012 Preview continues!

Oh, the pandas are busy this spring!  Here are some more of the exciting stories we will be covering soon!  I would also like to jump about and clap my paws with glee ( which produces a kind of muffled, fuzzy sound) because there have been over 21,000 views of the Panda Chronicles!  Huzzah!

The panda kindergarten: bringing chaos the world over!

We can’t tell you how sorry we are not to be at Pandapalooza at the San Diego Zoo this year,  but we will be there in spirit, and start making plans for next year.  (maybe with a book???)  We did send along a few goodies for prizes at the conference.  I hope YOU are a lucky winner!

A Vision in Black and White…A New Ensemble`

Why should zebras have all the fun?  Babette thought she needed a new outfit (avec un belle chapeau!) for all her jet setting… southern California one day, Singapore the next, then it’s off to the French Alps to get in a little time on the slopes with with a mystery panda!  So what could be more appropriate for a quick trip to the south of France (or maybe Disneyland?) than a glorious black and white striped asymmetrical ruffled blouse with a pleated skirt?  I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking, Ingrid Bergman; Casablanca….And her hat? Oh that hat!  Inspired by a little something her cousin Bai Yun of San Diego just “picked up”  around the den.

And what about the news that pandas are moving to France? Sacre` Bleu!  Cousins of Babette, no doubt.  Will Sweetie rake Sunshine over the coals for applying for the post in unfashionable Edinburgh, (haggis? ugh! when we could have had French pastries??) when Paris was on offer?  Stay tuned!

As the Pandas Turn….The History of the Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire Continues…

So, as we return to our story, after discovering panda videos on youtube, where else was there to go?  The Zoo websites, of course! The San Diego Zoo has a wonderful website with a little section called “Meet the Pandas”. I started to notice that pandas don’t all look the same.  In fact, one of the pandas pictured look like a real party animal. He seemed to be saying, “Where’s the beer, eh?” even though he isn’t Canadian. This led me to make my own “Meet the Pandas” cartoon.

So that got me thinking, “well, just what do pandas do when they have a potluck dinner party?
