And now, for the Wu Self Birthday Season!!!

Huzzah! It is time for the birthday season of our very own Wu Self, that paragon of pandas, that handsome hunk of hubba hubba, that fabulously furry fuzzbutt…

Ahem… It is hard not to get excited about Mr. Wu. He was the first actual panda that made a name for himself here at The Panda Chronicles and he captured the hearts of people all around the globe, especially after his record breaking well cubby check up video hit the airwaves.

So, without further ado, let us kick off the Wu’ Self’s birthday season with some classic Wu ‘toons!

“Howdy do! I’m Mr. Wu! Who are you?”

And I bet you are happy to see that Little Mr. Wu is safe and sound!

“Wu calls his dance, ‘Ode to a Weaf’ “

Yo ho ho and a bottle of BooBeer!

Pinky is not going to like this

So what else is new? Am I really supposed to spend all my days trying to write stories that are all about Pinky all the time? I thought as a writer that I had at least a little bit of free will and discretion about what my stories are about. And really, Pinky, if you think that my stories are making you look bad, you could…oh, I don’t know…maybe behave a little better and not tease your brother so much?

What was I thinking!!!!??? We are talking about PINKY here!!!!

It’s Birthday Weekend for the Meihems!

We need to wrap up the Meihem’s birthday weekend because up next on the calendar, it’s none other than Mr. Wu’s birthday celebration extravaganza! The Wu self turns 5 this year! But after last week’s struggle to find cartoons starring the Meihem’s WITHOUT Pinky in them, this week we ~~reluctantly~~ joyfully invite Pinky to the Meihem’s birthday weekend!

What is a party without a liddle MEIHEM?????

Huzzah! It’s The year of Pandas on Horsies!

“Hello, Bai Yun? this is Lun Lun…about that detective you suggested…”

Oh, Pinky…what have you done?

Fast furry friends…for now…SOMETIMES they get along!

And so begins our Tale (or is that “Tail”?)

I can hardly focus my mind on pandas, what with various members of a certain family claiming innocence because something turned out to be nothing, when really what matters is that you thought it was something! And so begins our tale …

But first! Last week I had a visit from my previously unmet-in-real-life friends from the other side of the globe. Despite several flight cancellations just in order to get here, they finally arrived and what a wonderful time we had! Let’s just say that cuppycakes and PIE were involved!

Did someone say cuppycakes?

While normally, I try to promote blogs that I find interesting or are written by people I know, I must tell you that you should definitely NOT read this post about making two lonely little cuppycakes and you most definitely should NOT make this little bite size batch of peanut butter frosting and if you DID make this petit batch of peanut butter frosting, you should definitely not add a little bit of dark cocoa powder OR eat the whole thing with a spoon.

Ahem…or whip up a batch with no intention of putting it on a cuppycake…

but now, so begins our tale ….

We call our liddle tale, “Being Endangered is Such a Curse!”

Yes, it’s another YBOP Fractured Fable! Huzzah. And like many fairy tales, there are wicked…um…witches, and fair maidens, not to mention a gallant prince who saves the day. And of course, everyone is a panda, more or less.

The Panda Kindergarten Presents…

Yes, we are getting close to another one of our fractured literary classics, where we ~~make a shambles of~~ re-write for pandas, a beloved tale of our childhood! Huzzah! But first, the panda kindergarten has a song for Pinky and the Meihems!

Fabulous Furry Friday Celebrates …

AS we are in the high volume part of panda birthday season, we are approaching the birthdays of two of our favorite pandas, Twinkies 1.0, the original, the first in the USofA, the Meihem Twins!!!! How could I ever forget watching their birth on my computer, and the the excitement when I realized we were getting two for the price of one!?!?! Now THAT is something to celebrate !

Of course, to celebrate, we will run TWO weeks of Fabulous Furry Fridays featuring the beloved Meihem twins, before we party like a panda in honor of the Wu Self!

Let’s celebrate and let the good times roll!

I hope everyone had a happy fourth of July, ate lots of grilled items of your choice and did not expire from potato salad that was sitting out too long. Also that you did not…um…let the panda kindergarten take fireworks IN to the house and that everything is still standing in your neighborhood. As in Washington DC, as well as The Institute for Inner Panda Studies summer camp, the question remains: Who’s in charge here, anyway?

What kind of surprises will be in store for our intrepid panda pals, as the arrive at the summer camp for The Institute of Inner Panda Studies? They might be surprised to learn that they already have a fan club! I’m sure the panda kindergarten has internet access, so of course they would already know all about Pinky and the Meihems, wouldn’t they?

Let’s join Pinky and the Meihems as this year’s panda kindergarten welcomes them to summer camp !

Fabulous Furry Friday …Again!

Oh the Fridays are fabulous around here, and not least because we are getting visitors from Australia! Huzzah! They are on the other side of the world, so when it is summer here, it’s winter there, although our Northwest summers may seem a little bit like winter to them! But this Friday evening, I will be meeting long time panda and panda satire fans in person (or is that in fur-son?) for the first time. And when panda fans get together, they party panda style!
