The Campaign of Bob…

The campaign of Bob does not run smoothly. No, really. Did you think it would? Well, you are in the wrong place for things to run smoothly. Just saying. What? Did you think you had tuned in to an episode of Little Den on the Prairie or something?

No, this is panda satire! It’s hard! It’s gritty! We are endangered! Excuse me, now it is time for my nap. But first…

And how did Pinky manage to hack into my computer again?

And how did Pinky manage to hack into my computer again?

You would think that Mama Mei would be happy that Pinky is taking her little brother in paw to teach him a few things. Not to mention being proud that her little girl is so tech savvy!

Meanwhile, in other news, Amazon has opened a store in Seattle, and I am thrilled. I would be more thrilled if they actually put my books in their stores, but that may be too much to hope for.  If you live in Seattle, and happen to drop by their store, put in a good word for pandas, okay? We are endangered, you know.

And progress on my coloring book is humming along. I hope to finish compiling it in the next week, so I can get it out in the world (via Amazon!) before the holiday shopping season. I am also working on a major revision of “The Case of the Picturesque Panda” so that it is a middle grade graphic novel. Some major changes are afoot (a paw?) and I can’t resist sharing one of the sample pages here:

Yes, Mr. Wu gets to be the smart one!

Yes, Mr. Wu gets to be the smart one!

I’d love to know what people think about the color, style of the illustrations, whatever you want to tell me. and I…um…promise I’ll read it and won’t ignore any negative things you might have to say. I might whimper a bit, but you don’t mind do you? This is a VERY long term project, so don’t be expecting this one any time soon, but you will be among the first to know when it is finished!

Well, pandas wait for no man!
Be the Bear!

Love the color! Glad Pinky is taking an interest in Bubba’s education. (And no, Pinky did not buy my endorsement with a cabinet post – she’s just very good at planning ahead.)

Poor Bob…he ought to hang it up, like those guys in Wisconsin and Texas. I think Pinky is invincible!! And Bubba is stuck in that high chair and has no choice but to absorb Pinky values along with MeiMilk.

Oh dear, Pinky is teaching Bubba how to be a hacker!! But she is so cute with baby brother on one side and Mr Bun on the other.
Love the Inspector Panda illustration. The colours are superb, the perspective great and the outfits – well I want those coats!

I think Pinky will be a …um…good influence as an older sister. Look how willing she is to share her knowledge…hey! wait a minute! She just hacked into my email account!
Glad you like the Inspector Panda illustration. I am very excited about this.

Oh, Bob T., Pinky is just smart. I love to have their computer skills :-))
what an excitement I’ll have to see the glamorous Babette de Panda, descendant of Minette, in color!!! the drawing you show us is so precious!! But if I remember correctly, in the original cartoon is Mr Wu who asked why hide a painting at the beach … this is going to be changes against the original script? What a thrill.

Yes, there are going to be quite a few changes from the original script. In adapting this for a middle grade audience (although us adults will still enjoy it too,) I had to make some changes, like making Mr. Wu the wise panda. Even though he is Inspector Panda’s assistant, he gets to be the smart one. It’s nice to know people are paying attention. (also a little scary. :o))

Woo hoo You are spoiling us fans of panda satire! Can’t wait for the new TCOTPP. Bob, Pinky and Bubba are a force that can’t be denied. Maybe it’s just best to enjoy some cuppycake therapy until this passes.

I think being spoiled is a good thing…um…except where Pinky is concerned. Her mother has been far too permissive. Um…I had nothing to do with that.
The Coloring Book is almost ready! I will post a sneak peek on Friday. Or Maybe Wednesday! I can’t wait!

oops, that third sentence should read more like: Oh Bob T., the Pinky and Bubba duo are a force that can’t be denied, maybe it’s best to enjoy some cuppycake therapy until the email scandal passes. (Mondays are not good for my typing…)
Can’t wait for a sneak peek at the coloring book! 🙂

        Cuppycake therapy = Good
        Mondays = Bad
and then there is the Spell Czech and his evil companion, Otto Correct.
I will think about Pinky after I have another cuppycake and a nap.
