Another Fabulous Furry Friday!

Lance Armstrong has been in the news again, what with his tell all interview with Oprah Winfrey airing this week.  The TV reception here at the panda den is virtually non-existent, so we don’t know if he copped a plea or not.  It did remind us of something that happened in Pandyland during the last Winter Olympics, so that inspired us to choose the following cartoon for our encore presentation this week. (For some reason, almost everything reminds us of …um…us. Go figure.)

But I Play One on Television….

OK, who out there remembers that commercial on TV (Note: this comes from the time before Tivo) where a TV Doctor starts a commercial by saying” I’m not a doctor, but I play one one television,”  and then gives you some advice on aspirin or hemorrhoid cream or something like that.  I mean, did anyone actually fall for that?  How stupid did they think we were?  Don’t answer that.  How could I resist the impulse to make this cartoon?

All My Pandas......

When I was in panda kindergarten, sometimes we would get to watch the soap operas on our big screen TV back in the den.  I love how nothing ever really happened from day to day, but the “not happening” was filled with such drama!  We at the Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire felt that the time was right for an all panda soap opera!  We have such depth of character don’t you think?  And getting international panda star, Babette de Panda to take a leading role…. well, you be the judge!
