Chaos reigns at the panda kindergarten! Little pandas tumbling and climbing to their hearts’ content. Meanwhile, in a room not far away, 100 pandas at 100 typewriters are endeavoring to write the Scottish Cartoon, MacBear! And, in yet another area of the Institute for Inner Panda Studies, yet another group of pandas are practicing for their annual production of The Dance of the Sugar Plum Pandas. Stay tuned.

To quote noted philosopher and rock legend Jerry Garcia, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.” I started this drawing with no other idea than “30 pandas, maybe on a slide, and cake.” While I’ve kept a day or two ahead of you, the viewers and panda-maniacs, I really had no more idea where this was headed than you all did. Needless, to say, It’s been fun, and I will do it again, just not next month. There are too many ideas for new cartoons that I haven’t had time to draw and write while I was absorbed in this project (not to mention all the other things I’m supposed to be doing to actually earn a living.) Be that as it may, this drawing will be available as a poster through Pandyland at Cafe Press starting on the 30th of November. (And what a great Christmas, Hannukah or Solstice present, for you or someone else!) Hope you are having as much fun with this as I am.

Well, it’s a good thing the month is almost over, because I’m running out of clever ways to avoid saying “30 days of Pandas, day 20-whatever.” It should now be obvious that this is a tribute to the video, “Pandas on a Slide” which was one of the first I watched, and then completely pushed me over the edge to Panda-mania, till I had absolutely NO choice, but to have a cross species transformation and become a panda,myself. Bring on the cuppycakes!

This has been so much fun. If I didn’t have a log of each days drawing to look at, I wouldn’t be able to keep all those naughty little pandas straight. I can tell you on good authority that there is a cake still to arrive, although the panda kindergarten DID eat all the cuppycakes and spilled bamboo soda into the keyboard of Mehitabel’s computer. Cat’s have NO sense of humor!

Well, now we know why the tightrope walking panda was not smiling! I’m almost POSITIVE that the pandas have not eaten the cake and that it will show up at the last minute. I hope that they have a good grip on the cake and are not fooling around with it. Is this foreshadowing? Hmmmm…..Maybe.

Woke up to news today on the radio that Michelle Obama was pissed off that schools were allowed to count pizza as a vegetable. Now, we pandas really like Michelle (so, if you are a republican or tea party enthusiast you can stop reading right now and cancel your subscription) but we think she has crossed the line on this one. I was really sure that french fries are vegetables too. I’m still planning on voting for your husband next year, but I think you need to back off on the pizza thing. I’m just sayin’, ya’ know? Other than that you are really awesome.
