One More From the Archives, Before Getting Back to Work

Um…you call this work?

So, I have been on a top secret mission to Iceland and Scotland, but alas, there are no pandas remaining in Scotland, although I did see a cow or two that looked like they might be distant relations. I was attending an art retreat, about an hour outside of Edinburgh. It was fabulous! As soon as I get organized (ha ha ha ha ha!) and scan the drawings I did in my sketch books, I will share them, most likely over on Substack, where I am Friendly to Bears. (because of course I am.)

So, it was Tai Shan’s bear-day this week, and he turned 21! But I was not making panda satire back when he was a cubby so I only have a couple references of him in the ‘toons.

This is one of my favorites:

oops.
Oh Princess Pinky, mom has a trick or two up her paw, I think…
Beware, the power of the paw!
Pinky answers difficult questions from the press in her own way.
Could Mama Mei Xiang really be contemplating letting Pinky loose on the pandy kindy?
Never say “No” to a Pinky!

I knew there was a reference somewhere about Tai giving Pinky her magical wand!

Anyway, back to work next week with some new ‘toons for your enjoyment!

Be the bear, Everyone!

Huzzah! it is Mr Wu Wednesday (of COURSE I didn’t forget!)

Oh my, Mr Wu is in quite the pickle, is he not?  A “generous” gift from the panda kindergarten, a young panda’s thirst for adventure:  These things can go terribly wrong, don’t you think?  But why are we standing around talking about this?  Lets see how Mr Wu’s adventure, A Bear in the Air, is progressing!

Tune in Next week for the exciting conclusion!

More From Bob’s Year in Review!

Last February, we endured the traumatic repossession of Tai Shan, american panda.  Tai was born in the National Zoo in Washington DC in 2006 (please correct us if we are wrong) and was recalled to the panda reserve in China.  So what was that all about?  I mean, he didn’t even speak chinese, for crying out loud!  It was our understanding that he was not allowed to bring his big screen color TV and his 17″ laptop computer. because the other pandas would be “jealous.”  And, he has to share a room. I ask you, is this fair?

Well, that all the year in review for now. Till next time,

Be the Bear!
