Oh my, I am an irresponsible panda satirist. Here I sent Pinky and the Mei-hem twins, Bert and Ernie, off on a road trip in the little yellow car to see Mr. Wu (clear on the other side of the country) and have we looked in on them since they zoomed off, leaving Mei Xiang in a cloud of dust? No we have not! (And then we wrote that terrible run on sentence…what were we thinking?)
Fortunately, thanks to GPPS (Global Panda Positioning Satellite) we have located the girls who are not quite to Pan Diego as yet.
On the road again….
Be the Bear
Bob T. Panda
The Cub Scout berets and uniforms are so perfect for the Mei-Hem twins! As the first pair of panda twins in the US, they definitely deserve to be carved out on a mountain!
Poor Wu, tho, he looks like he’s saying “I’m carved out next to these GURLS forever?!”
And is that space between Pinky and Wu a perfect place for the future Memphis baby we’re waiting so patiently to have?? I hope Ya Ya keeps her tail up this year! The keepers say she tends to put her tail down when Le Le does his bear business, or tries to!
I’m glad Mr Wu’s look of desperation and horror comes across, at being trapped for eternity in stone with a bunch of “gurls”.
I really hope we get a memphis baby this year. Poor Ya Ya is way overdue, although to the credit of the folks at memphis zoo, they love their pandas even without a bouncing baby panda. Maybe bai Yun can hold classes to help unsuccessful panda pairs, now that she is retired. Lun Lun is close on her heels though, and still young enough to have several more cubs. (Bai Yun: well, but she cheated by having 2 at once!)
Maybe Tian Tian and le Le can form a men’s support group.
It’s very easy to fall in love with Ya Ya and Le Le! Le Le is such a flirt and a goofball and Miss Ya Ya is such a sassy little lady! The keepers told me (jokingly) that Ya Ya saw the Cublanta panda cam when both twinkies were with Lun Lun for the first time and said “Yea I am SO not doing that!”
I wish we saw more of them on the panda cams.
Road trip!! Are they coming to Washington. They really should visit Cape Flattery and the San Juans… Every panda should dip their paws in the ocean at least once….
Well, I WISH they would come to Washington state! I would certainly invite them to a weekend stay on Whidbey Island! I think they would enjoy a trip to the top of the space needle as well.
This is too funny! I love it. Thanks for continuing the girls’ adventure.
P.S.: Although I don’t think the twins should let Pinky entirely off the hook for “highwaygate”. If nothing else, when they return to the east coast, she should at least have to pay for the cookies so the twins can earn their cookie badge – even if Inspector Panda has eaten them all. 🙂
I agree. Pinky is definitely not off the hook, though I believe there is a truce while they are on the road. I’m SURE they would never, say, leave pinky at a rest stop, for instance.
Mt Pandmore – love it – especially Mr Wu’s expression 🙂
That’s one Road Trip I want to go on!!
They like to sing traveling songs while they drive, so be prepared to sing along with car-trip classics such as 100 bottles of boo-beer, how much is that panda in the window? and other panda favorites.
Oh I Love Singing! Is there are a panda song book so I can learn the words? 🙂
That’s a good idea: Songs of the pandas…. after the Cuppycake Cookbook, though. :o)
Cuppycakes first! You can’t sing on an empty stomach 🙂
How true, how true!
