Intervention for Pinky

NEWS FLASH!!!!! If you haven’t heard already, out in the real world Pinky has not one, but two new siblings. So far everyone is doing okay. They have started swapping out the twins so each can have some time with Mama Mei. What will Pinky have to say about this? Um…. I don’t know yet, but you can be sure that it will be all about Pinky Pinky Pinky! We will continue to monitor the situation closely, both for sibling rivalry as well as sibling exploitation. (Do you think that Pinky won’t turn this to her own advantage?)

Congratulations  Mei Xiang, the Panda staff, the Smithsonian National Zoo, and of course, the panda faithful who visit the pandas …um…a lot. HUZZAH!!!!!

Enough is enough! Pinky is out of control and Mommee and Daddee must do something about it. So, instead of Pinky’s expected birthday party, they stage an intervention for Pinky.

Do they really think this is going to work?

And this hacking into my title imagery has got to stop!

And this hacking into my title copy has got to stop!

Does Mei Xiang have any kind of chance to control Pinky, when Pinky so clearly has Daddee wrapped around her little paw? How do you ground a panda when said panda has a magical wand? And how did she change my title copy again? This must stop!

Stay tuned, faithful Panda fans!

Be the Bear,
Bob T. Panda

Pinky has now been pushed out of cutiest baby by two babies. She has got to be pissed. And we know how she acts when ticked off!

This is definitely a travesty, in Pinky’s eyes. She was temporarily distracted by her party and cake today, but by tomorrow, the reality should begin to set in. Then we should be VERY afraid.

Aww Pinky is still the cutiest princess panda girl <3 She's too special to ever be upstaged. I'm more concerned with sibling exploitation than rivalry. After all, being a big sister to the nation's newest panda twins is WAY more important (and fun) than being president…who else can we trust to teach the cubs the ways of cuteness?

Pinky wanted me to tell you, that she can both exploit the cuteness of her young siblings as well as run for president. I expect her mother’s fur will be turning gray very shortly. I don’t seem to be able to control Pinky’s behavior any more than her mother can. And Dad, well, he’s just wrapped around. Pinky’s little paw, isn’t he?

Tian’s face in that last frame is priceless – how can he deny Pinky anything! We understand his dilemma 🙂 Will there be a birthday cake for the birthday girl?

There was a birthday cake! I’m guessing the nanny keepers did not want to endure the wrath of Pinky if she was thwarted. I was happy to see pictures of lots of floks at her party. I’m guessing there was not a lot of sleep at the panda house last night.

My guess is for baby panda exploitation from Pinky. Look at how she appropriated the triplets. Mommee needs to protect her tiny ones from Pinky’s wrath and magical wand. Good luck with that!

Yes, I think that as soon as she gets over their usurpation of her birthday eve, she will figure out how they can be of “assistance” to her campaign. I thought maybe she would be reined in a bit, but I can see now I have been completely deluded.
      Sigh…

At least Pinky has her own birthday! My sister was born on my 4th birthday (crashed my party, even!) and 33 years later, we still argue over who should change their birthday!

Pinky’s pedigree is quite impressive: Big sister to the nation’s latest panda twins, daughter of the famous sneezing baby panda, cousin to the first surviving panda twins in the US, niece of the Empress Bai Yun, granddaughter of Super-Panda dad Pan Pan… be afraid, be very afraid!

That was extremely inconsiderate of your mother and sister to usurp your birthday like that. Inthink they will continue to owe you big time, like formthe rest of your lives. While absconding with Pinky’s birthday would have been worse, hijacking her Birthday Eve is almost as bad.
I expect that Pinky will poof this all to her own advantage, and make minions of her youngest sibs.
Your recitation of Pinky’s pedigree is quite impressive indeed!

I have’t been able to find any videos of Princess Pinky Bao Bao’s birthday party! Maybe I looked before they were uploaded, but I’ve seen lots on her Mom and new twin siblings already. I’m sure Pinky would never hurt her new brothers (or sisters or brother and sister!) and would be very loving to them. But no doubt Pinky’s brain will be in overdrive envisioning how each infant cub’s special talents can best be used to further the Princess’ vision of future greatness!

There were some videos and pictures on FaceBook, if you are a member of the Mei Xiang’s Next Miracle page. Ask to join, if you are on FB and not there already. You might also check You tube, on Doxiemom Pandamonium’s channel. I haven’t had time to look elsewhere.
Pinky is a LITTLE oerturbed that she was called “the third most popular cub in DC” by the Washington Post. Is this any way to talk about an icon?
I am sure Pinky is hatching plots on ways to make use of her new little sibs in her campaign.

      Stay tuned. :-)))
