I wasn’t sure if I’d get this done for today, but here we are!
Bears are continuing to behave badly in the Lake Tahoe area (Henrietta says it wasn’t her!) Alert reader Linda L spotted this NooZ story about a bear named Cinnamon (allegedly) who (allegedly) stole a 3 gallon tub of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream from a local shop (allegedly).
“I don’t know what the fuss is all about,” said former Tahoe resident Henrietta the Tank from her new address in Colorado at a luxury “residential facility”. “It’s not like they can’t make more ice cream. Honestly! Nobody wants to share any more!.”

We all scream for democracy…um…I mean ice cream

Cinnamon has wonderful taste! Does she like cuppycakes too?
What is ice cream without a cuppycake? It is sadness, despair and just bad manners. We shall not speak of it again.
The world as we once knew it has drastically changed in the a just a short period of time. Many people seem to have happily given up their right to make their own choices in their private life as well as how they use their Constitutional right to vote. The future does not look good at this point. To be honest, I hope I do not live long enough to see most of our Constitutional rights erased with “Big Stupid Orange Face Brother” and his uber religious buddies directing and dictating what we read see and what we hear and how we live every second of each day of the year. It can certainly happen if people do not wake up.
I hear you loud and clear, my sweet friend. It is very hard to keep the despair at bay as we watch the cruelty, the stupidity take hold with not a majority, but a significant part of our population. Truth be told, that ugliness has always been there, but for many of us (not all, by a long shot) it stayed under its rocks and in the closet where it belonged.
But the large orange man called out to it. Said, “come on down, petty cruelties and bigotry and misogyny! I welcome you, and together we will destroy everything that is good and brings joy in the world.”
It breaks my heart that so many of us are hurting, especially our group of panda and bear loving people. All I can do is to keep keeping on until I can’t anymore. I am sad, terrified, angry that I do not get to have my final decades without this attack on the world. But until it stops me, I will not stop making art, I will not stop drawing funny bears, and try to keep my candle burning. Keep the faith. Have a cuppycake.
