Summit Talks

The talks between world (cough cough) leaders are not the only summit talks that are now happening around the world. The question is one that has puzzled philosophers for centuries: What do pandas talk about, when they talk about ‘boo? And more importantly, are panda moms the true power behind the curtain?

Give me a cuppycake and a bamboo lever and I will move the world!

Summit

“Why can’t my children be as well behaved as Lun Lun’s,” mused Mei Xiang

Meanwhile, my project to raise funds for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU is going very well. The offer is in effect through February and the details are here:

Donate $50 to either the ACLU or Planned Parenthood and get a signed copy of a cartoon, with a hand drawn sketch on it.
Donate $100 to either the ACLU or Planned Parenthood and get 2 signed cartoons with a hand drawn sketch on them.
Donate $500 to either the ACLU or Planned Parenthood and get an original hand drawn cartoon of my* choice (unframed) (* you can tell me who your favorite panda characters are and I will make a selection based on that info)

Just send me a screenshot of your donation receipt dated between January 31st and February 28th, along with your mailing address, and I will send them out as I receive them. US addresses only, please. Send info/receipt to yourbrainonpandas@gmail.com. Let’s see if we can raise some $$ for these organizations! Pandas are standing by!

Thanks to all who have donated so far!

Panda On!

I hope some DC savvy has rubbed off on Mommee Mei . Ridiculously naive me took ages to understand that anytime words based on bless and heart were used in the same sentence they were a veiled insult. Or would Mei understanding Lun Lun’s thoughts about natural sibling interaction cause a case of Panda Mommee Wars? Hmm and what happens when the nannies depart, and the Meihem grow naturally less interested in their new siblings? Will Lunacy truly reign in Atlanta? Who might be blessing whose hearts then? Or is The Princess Pinky more trouble than two sets of twins and her darling baby brother combined. Clearly I have too much imagination and time invested into your lovely tale. Thank you for sharing it. You have made my life better and given me joy.

      Glad to be of assistance!
Personally, I think Pinky is more trouble than 3 sets of twins, but that’s just me. Thanks to one of my friends from south of the Mason Dixon line for explaining that “Bless your heart” is usually not meant kindly.
Hmmm…don’t know what happens when the nannies depart. Maybe by then the girls are better at looking out for each other and mommee can still read and drink bootinis in her deck chair.

Ah, yes, it is a pity Pinky isn’t the presydent, isn’t it. Mei could have had the Secret Service to watch over Bubba at the taxpayers’ expense. If only Pinky had used her Twitter account more efficiently, things would be so different.

Pinky did win the popular vote by almost 3 million. This was one of those fluky things that could bring about the fall the empire. Um…for instance.

No. No. Please no. Princess Pinky is her own, unique, beautiful soul. She has the hearts and souls of everyone. To compare her to any politician is just EW! ?

When a cartoon starts with “Hey Girlfriend” I know I am in for a treat. Lun Lun in her deck chair and a bootini always looks so relaxed. Poor Mei, she does have her paws full. Pinky torturing Congress – now that I would love to see!

Yes, we all would have loved to see that. I love how Lun Lun never seems to be phased, even with twins.

Lun Lun always has it so easy! And yes, the more time goes by, the more I feel not electing Pinky was a missed opportunity.
