31 Days of Pandas ~ Day 13

31~13!!!! It’s a palindrome day!

I thought today I would share some photos from The Travels of Mini Bob, when he took a trip to England right before the 2016 presidential election. (Remember that? Yeah…we do too.)

31 days

I’ll have…um…4 of everything. This is Mini Bob’s favorite cupcake palace.

I remember this painting but with a different model…

Beatrix Potter

Look how excited Mini Bob is to pose with one of his heroes! (Beatrix Potter, in case you didn’t recognize her portrait!)

Mini Bob has an unerring eye for a cool set of wheels.

Mini Bob, hanging out with Pooh Bear and thinking about a snack; and yes, that is an actual drawing by my hero, Ernest Shepard, in the print and drawing study room at the V & A Museum in London.

Stay ‘tooned for tomorrow, when we have an Encore Presentation of Pinky in Wonderland! And yes, More of Beary Poppins coming on Tuesday!

Ho Ho Ho!

Day 17: 31 Days of Pandas

Today’s 31 Days of Pandas travelogue takes you to the seat of power in Great Britain, the Houses of Parliament. Sort of a “Bob with the Bobbies” kind of thing. Oddly enough, they did not invite him to address Parliament. Security was rather heavy, though, and we are happy that we were not arrested for photographing Mini Bob at the gates.

Mini Bob is unafraid!

Day 15: 31 Days of Pandas

It is the Ides of December. Not a good thing in March, and doubly worse in December, as we move towards the Solstice and the darkest day of the year. (One could make the argument that November 8th was the darkest day of…um….the century, but I digress.) But we are just about half-way through 31 Days of Pandas! Tomorrow we will rejoin our holiday classic, It’s a WUnderful Life! Huzzah! But now, we join Mini Bob as he takes a quiet moment to contemplate a card sent by his good friend, the Emperor Pew Panda.

What does that card say, huh, Petit Robear?

Day 12: 31 Days of Pandas

Do you know what today is? it’s naming day at Zoo Cublanta, for the Twinkies 2.0! It’s their 100th day birthday. Mini Bob is ready to join in the celebration, when we learn Six and Seven’s official names! But they’ll always be Six and Seven to The Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire! A day for Pandas to remember!

A toast to pandas!!!!

Day 10: 31 Days of Pandas

I’m late! I’m late! I don’t know what happened to me yesterday, but I just couldn’t compel myself to get today’s post ready yesterday, and deciding it was more important to finish the new ‘toons, I decided to delay, but not delete! So onward, with day 10 of 31 days of pandas!

Mini Bob at London’s Cartoon Museum

Mini Bob is such a rebel! (notice no photography notice)

Comics are really big in Europe and Great Britain. I’ve visited cartoon museums in Brussels, Belgium in addition to this one. There are several museums in the US, including a really big collection at Ohio State University, The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum. This is definitely on my “places to visit” list! Mini Bob insisted on being photographed here, despite the “No Photography” sign. He is such a rebel! Like the museum we visited a few years ago in Belgium, this one had a wonderful display of political cartoons, going back a couple hundred years. Just saying!

Day 1: 31 Days of Pandas

Mini Bob Started his travels in Oxford, which besides being a really cool place, is a hotbed of children’s literature, past and present. Think CS Lewis of Chronicles of Narnia fame, or Professor Charles Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland.

But the other thing England has in abundance is beer, and some pubs are friendly to bears.

Be the bear…or is that the beer?
