Just because it’s Black & White Friday…..

…don’t think that we forgot Fabulous Furry Friday! Of course, we must run last year’s brilliant (if I do say so myself, and I do,) satire of the unfortunate (OK, stoopid) incident at a large discount retailer last year….

Black friday shopping tactics

Ah, fall…or something…is in the air!

And if that is not enough silliness to get you out of your turkey coma….

torch bears, money, selling olympic torch

but now what will they do when they get to the Olympics?…..stay tuned!

And in case you were too busy eating one too many pieces of pie yesterday to see this cartoon….

Last Supper, Cupcakes, DaVinci

Princess Pinky says, she is thankful for cuppycakes and da panda kindygarten and her magical wand!

It’s Friday! Time for an Encore Presentation!

We’re not sure how it happened, but already it is almost the end of the second month of the year!  Time flies when you are lounging around sipping bambootinis!

We are joking about the lounging around part!  Between monitoring the escapades of young Mr. Wu and getting book 2 of the Panda Chronicles ready for printing, we’ve hardly had a minute to ourselves!

Here is a classic episode of the Panda Chronicles to send you off for your weekend relaxation.  Share and enjoy!

It’s fabulous Furry Friday….again!

Well, I hadn’t thought much in advance about what cartoon I was going to post today, so I will now go to the cartoon archives and see what strikes my fancy.  In the meantime, here are some links to some of Doxiemom’s wonderful (and adorable) videos of Mr. Wu.  Sorry, I could not find the one with the leaf, but these videos are guaranteed to make you smile.

Bears are on the ball!

Bears are on the ball!

Mr. Wu does still somewhat resemble a soccer ball, so I included this cartoon starring Binky!

Have a fabulous Friday!

PS: work has started on Book 2 of The Panda Chronicles! Don’t miss out on the history of Bob and the beginnings of the panda kindergarten! Get your copy of The Panda Chronicles Book 1: Your Brain on Pandas here!

What part of ‘Over’ don’t you get?

Sigh.

The Olympics are over, and I didn’t get top watch any of it, having given up my TV some years ago.  So, I just had to make do with The Panda Olympics!  Huzzah!!!!

So, here is one last (well, maybe the last…the panda kindergarten never seems to know when to quit) before I return tomorrow with part 2 of Bob and Mehitabel explain Kickstarter.

You may be wondering…..

…about that little box that has a countdown to “Project Launch Day”  (which is at 15 days, even as we speak)

But what does it all mean?

Well, oh lovers of panda satire, it means that I finally have enough panda cartoons to self publish some actual printed books of The Panda Chronicles!

Pandas have long been active in literary pursuits

So, having had one successful Kickstarter project under my belt for a fine art printmaking project, I decided that the time has come to let the pandas take the stage!  Huzzah!

My cunning plan is to make it a fairly modest project, so that if I only get enough funding to do the first book, I will be able to take the time necessary to finish formatting the cartoons for print, do all the book-y stuff that I’ll have to do to make The Panda Chronicles Book 1: Your Brain on Pandas a reality.

But….

If I get overwhelming support, so that I go above and beyond my goal amount, it means that I can do all three books for whichI already have completed cartoons RIGHT NOW THIS VERY MINUTE.

But what can I do to help?”  I hear you all saying in the background?  Well, of course I will be exceedingly grateful to any of you who choose to pledge at whatever level you can afford.  Even a whole bunch of $1 pledges move me closer to my goal (and make me look really popular to the Kickstarter staff.)  But what would help a lot, is if all of you who love panda satire the way we do it here, would tell all your friends about my project.  Now, I’m not launching it for two more weeks, because I still have some pieces of the proposal to get into place, but don’t worry, I’ll remind you.  In the meantime, there are still a few Panda Olympic events that need to happen, so keep tuning in.

Here’s what my project profile picture will be, so you know what to look for….

And of course, the panda kindergarten can’t WAIT to help with this project…..

Here we are! At the Olympics! Really! (well, really in a cartoon fantasy kind of way)

You’ve been waiting, we’ve been busy…I know earning a living is no excuse!  So, without further panda-ing around, here is an installment of the Panda Chronicles, LIVE from the Olympic Stadium!   Huzzah!

It’s round, it’s cuddly, it’s black and white…who WOULDN’T make this mistake?

More Olympics coverage to come!   Huzzah!

The Torch Bears! Lost at Sea?

I know in the “real world” that the Olympics have actually already started, but please bear with us, and indulge me in the thought that the Olympics are just about to begin.

Where, oh where have the torch bears gone?

Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion of this story!

More 2012 Previews! Huzzah! AND a Roll of Honor Inductee!

I have to start this post by thanking a tireless promoter of all things panda on Facebook.  DoxieMom Pandamonium (not her real name, I would guess)  posts compilation videos from the panda cams streamed from the US zoos, often Zoo Atlanta, since that is the home of our nations youngest panda.  This is a huge amount of work, as she has to watch hours of videos to get these little 1.5 minute gems.  Every once in a while she mentions that she doesn’t know how much longer she can do this, so we all whine and plead and then she relents and keeps doing it.  She often gives these videos really clever names that leave me laughing out loud, and Mehitabel glaring at me from her perch on my drawing table, because I’ve disturbed her beauty sleep.  Her most recent one was so funny (and such a great video that I’m not even going to admit how many times I have watched it) that the only thing I could think to do was steal the title for this cartoon.  But I’m putting her on the Roll of Honor, so I hope she will forgive me.

DoxieMom Pandamonium : you are da Bear! Welcome!

So without any more fol-der-al, here is today’s 2012 Panda Preview of upcoming cartoons!  (I stole this idea from Doonesbury ….if you are going to steal stuff, steal from the best, I always say!)

Time to start getting ready for the 2012 Olympics!

Oh Those Pandas!

In light of the upcoming 2012 Olympic games to take place in London this summer,  I thought I would occasionally bring you some highlights of Panda Olympics past. As you can see, the panda bobsled team (comprised of the 2010 panda kindergarten) had a few …um…problems.

While we wait for the arrival of the Scottish pandas….

Of course we know that Tian Tian and Yang Guang are not actually Scottish,  I mean, it’s not like they are some exotic variation on Scottish Terriers, after all.  But still, our heart starts to go pitter patter just a bit when we think of pandas gracing the British Isles once again.  As you know, pandas have trod these paths before, and not so very long ago at that.  Am I speaking of Chi Chi, who lived at the London Zoo from 1958 until her death in 1972?  Why no! I’m speaking of the Torch Bears recent visit to Westminster Cathedral to start their round the world journey back to London for the 2012 (Panda) Olympic Games!
