The End of the Crisis

Ha ha, not the end of THAT crisis! You know… The 2016 election season. Yup…that’s still happening, much to our dismay. No, the end of the crisis to which we refer, is the disappearance of the Canadian Twinkies. But they have headed for home, and Mom Er Shun is whipping up a large batch of bootine, that Canadian delicacy that is the favorite of Canadian pandas everywhere. Um…all four of them.

Are you SURE you wouldn't like to vote for Bob?

Are you SURE you wouldn’t like to vote for Bob?

A couple of faithful readers told me that they did not get friday’s post in their email this week. I don’t think I got it either, so I went into the behind the curtains scene, and pushed a few buttons randomly, reinstalled this and that, and just general flapped around seeing if I could figure out why it was doing this (or more like not doing this) So, I have no idea if I fixed anything or made it worse. So, if you are an email subscriber, feel free to make a comment and let me know if the post today shows up in your email inbox. It could be an evil plot by Pinky, to keep me from campaigning against her, or it could be a break in the space time continuum.

Work continues behind the scenes on The Case of the Picturesque Panda. I hope to be ready to send out to publishers by the end of the summer. I’ve started on the revisions I need to do before I can start on the final art, and am hoping to get all that approved by the beginning of June. Stay tuned!

Well, till then,

I got the email today. I’m voting for the glitch being a result of Friday the 13th. You pandas haven’t adopted human superstitions, so it’s understandable that you wouldn’t have though of that. Are you sure you want to be president?

Glad the email is back. I recently switched the landing page from a static page to the new post, and maybe that messed things up. So in the time honored tradition of pandas, I went into the dashboard and randomly pushed buttons, lit candles, had a snack and then a nap. Whatever I did, it worked. I will try to not change anything else, ever, including my socks.

Refreshing to hear that the Honorable Panda in Chief solves glitches the way I do – randomly pushing buttons, snacking, then napping. Yup, works every time.

Oh god yes. Despite how much time I spend on the computer, I’m fairly incompetant. And I am at peace with my ineptitude. Technology when (and only when) it suits me. ?

Glad the emails are back. I danced under the full moon in a panda suit so that seems to have fixed it.

There are two different email sign up thingies. The top one is to get the new posts via email as soon as they are posted.mthe second (right below the first) is for my newsletter, which I write only rarely. I am trying to be better about that, but… ? Check your spam/ junk folder and see if hte emails have ended up there. Depending on your email filter, sometimes you have to tell your computer that you want this and that it’s not junk.

I always tell people: my tech knowledge is shallow yet narrow.
          LOL
I can do some things, but when things go wrong, I have no idea what to do about it. Then you call tech support and nothing they say makes sense. So then I have a cookie and take a nap and hope it fixes itself.

There is no problem so big, that can’t be fixed by ignoring ot completely. And cookies. Don’t forget the cookies!

I didn’t get Friday’s nor today’s in email. I only got today’s by going to the home page. I still need Friday’s. What am I doing wrong? Don’t you pandas love me anymore?

Had you been getting them? ( sorry, I have to ask.?) i did do a little jiggery pokery thing today that may or may not have made a difference. Check your spam folder (why do people always say that?) then have a cookie, and if all else fails, try unsubscribing and then signing up again. See the other comments to truly understand the depth of my ignorance in all these techy sort of things.

Yes, I had been getting them. I did some silly tricks too (but no cookies or cuppycakes were available) and finally unsubscribed and signed up again. I think it must have been a Friday the 13th trick that caused all this.

I’ve found, in computers, as well as in life, there is more than one way to solve a problem, and I always go for the one that makes my head hurt the least. It is the panda way.

Are you sure this was not caused by one of those guys who call and tell you they are from Microsoft and that there is “a problem” with your computer? I used to tell them to go expletive themselves. Now I ask them if they believe in God and tell them that, um, God does not like liars and thieves. (Then I figured out how to block one of the numbers, at least.)

I always think of those things after I hang up on them. But no, I think this was my own ineptitude and now it is fixed, at least I think so. Maybe I need to have some more cuppycakes and maybe a liddle ice cream.
We shall see what happens on Wednesday.
It could have been Pinky, too.

Speaking of cookies, I have to mess with my browser’s mildly paranoid cookie settings to leave you a comment. When are browser programmers going to learn that I need a double-fudge walnut cookie setting?

And why ISN’T there a chocolate walnut cookie setting in my browser? You’re the computer expert in the family. You fix it.

You’ll have to backtrack on the site to see Friday’s post, or maybe for tomorrows, I’ll include a link to Friday’s post. Sigh…a panda’s work is never done. Unless it’s snack and nap time. Then all bets are off.

I’m glad your email pandas came back on Sunday. See previous comments for more on what I did to fix it. (Hint, it involves naps and cookies. You’ll just have to scroll back from Sunday’s post on the site to see Fridays. I don’t think there is a way for me me to resend it. ?
