I scribble color my black areas but I use a program called Gimp2 to put in the colors. It may not be “True Art” but it’s so much fun. You can change your mind, white out a color and put in another and just get crazy. I don’t make any money on my drawings tho….so I can do what I want. Yay

Thanks for the info, Linda. I try to minimize the stuff I do on the computer, both because it is hard on my eyes, but also because I love the feel of drawing with a pen. Also, Mehitabel has a pillow on the drawing table from where she supervises my work, and I try to keep her off of the computer. (Cat hair, don’t ‘cha know) The act of drawing is soothing and meditative, while computer work is anything but. Mehitabel does bite my drawing tools from time to time, especially if she does not get enough “page time.”

Well, I don’t have a boss (Mehitabel) although I do have an ancient ancestor named that. It really was a popular name back in the early years in our country.

That’s really amazing, well maybe not really. I got the name from the book “Archie and Mehitabel.” I always assumed Don Marquis made it up, but as these stories were written in the 19-teens and 20’s, I guess he just plucked the name from a real person. You learn something new every day.

I also have ancestors named Comfort and Increase. Very strange indeed but apparently popular in the 16s and 17s. My Mehitabel was born in 1669.

They lived in Connecticut at first. The family name in England was Whitmore which became Wetmore in America. The second or third Whitmore son came to America because he was not going to inherit anything as the first son got the inheritance.
The original home was built in Staffordshire, England around 800 AD and the last info. I have is that it is still owned by the original family although the name has changed because it was eventually inherited by a girl.

Mehitabel married Andrew Bacon in Hartford, Connecticut on Feb.12, 1692.
Ask your Mehitabel how she feels about Bacon.

Mehitabel is a BIG fan of bacon, especially when it is wrapped around a pork chop and grilled. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that cats are meant to be vegetarians.
