Meanwhile, at the Panda House…

Did you see what happened at the last debate? I was out in the kitchen, checking to see if the cookie fairy had brought me some cookies during the night and I looked away from the television just at the crucial moment, and when I looked back, Mittens was gone! Poof! Just like that! And meanwhile, back at the Panda House… Mei was doing some fast thinking and making calculations on how she could keep her daughter out of hot water.

Last week over in the Twittersphere, some people were having fun with the names of Beatle’s songs and panda fan extraordinaire Anne Lane Witt came up with this one, which I…um…borrowed for this ‘toon:

What happens at the debate, states at the debate...

What happens at the debate, states at the debate…

I hope everyone is planning to have a safe and sane 4th of July, and NOT follow the example of the panda kindergarten, who are anything but sane.

uh. oh.

uh. oh.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. Not that artists/writers/cartoonists get 3 day weekends. Oh no! But you all go and have a good time. Don’t give it a second thought. (But if you could send some cake my way, I would take back that pissy little rant. Really.)

Be the Bear!
Bob T. Panda

And lest I forget our neighbors to the north, Happy Panada Day!!!!

Oh Panada, Oh Panada, how tasty are your maple leaves....

Oh Panada, Oh Panada, how tasty are your maple leaves….

Oh, that was adorable! “You mean when Zizzy poofed bad kitty?” I’m surprised Mei interrupted her kids while they were getting along! I love Pinky’s expressions and Bubba’s enthusiasm.

I pointed this out on Twitter, but you know, pandas and fireworks really do make sense together. Both are internationally beloved, with origins in China!

I don’t know why Mei didn’t take that into account, but maybe then again, she did. After all, her little chat with Pinky didn’t seem to break the (temporary) alliance between the sibs. Now, Bubba’s actions on Wednesday could sever the truce.
      Stay tuned!

Always worth repeating this fact about pandas, China, and fireworks, since not everyone here is on Twidder. Poor Mehitabel. She rarely gets the better of the panda kindergarten.

She gets away with so many things because of her cuteness. But she does adore Mr. Bun (and her little brother)

Hopefully Pinky will receive a medal for poofing Mittens.
Can she pop down under and do some political poofing here? Bamboo and cuppycakes will be provided!

Between Mittens and He who I will not name, we have so many despicable politicians that I was barely aware of the debacles down under! I will put Pinky (and her wand) on the next plane so she can go sort out your mess, which is apparently considerable.
And how would you like to be the UK, where one of the main instigators of Brexit, just said in an interview that he is retiring from politics. Um…so, you just wanted to f**k everything up and then leave someone else to clean up your mess? I guess so!
Sigh. Meanwhile, our presidential debacle just gets weirder and weirder. The bad man with the bad combover scares the hell out of me. I just want to go to sleep and wake up when Hillary is our first female president.

I await Pinky’s arrival 🙂 Hope she has a lot of juice in her wand – there’s a lot of “poofing” to be done!
It could be weeks before we know the full outcome of the election. But it does look like we voted in our female version of He Who Must Not Be Named to the Senate. Someone did add an extra box to their ballot paper and voted for Justin Trudeau!
As for the UK my thoughts exactly. Stuff everything up and then leave – Mission Accomplished!
For so many reasons I really hope Hillary wins.
I better go pop some of Pinky’s Cuppycakes in the oven for her imminent arrival 🙂

Pinky is pleased you are making cuppycakes for her arrival! It is hard to believe there are so many incompetent politicians and that sop many of them manage to get elected. I would vote for Unka Justin, but Hillary needs every vote. (sorry, Pinky). The interview I heard with the departing leader of UKIP and the Brexit movement was horrifying on so many levels.

The former leader of UKIP is a despicable person. I really hate racists. It’s sad to see so many of them elected to our parliament and parliaments around the world. I see it as the final swing of a pendulum. It gets really bad and then it starts to swing the other way. Unka Justin is an example of the swing back to great leadership and inclusive values. We’ll get there eventually. Hopefully you guys get there in November with a win for Hillary!!

It is really frightening to see people like this get into power. I have a morbid fascination in watching movies set in the late 1930’s and on into WW2. I see so many similarities in what happend then, with the kind of things certain politicians are saying and doing. It’s hard not just to retreat into pandyland.
