Journalistic Follies

A couple of weeks ago, a story hit the news: an anchorman misremembered or misspoke or what ever you want to call it, but anyway, he claimed he did something that didn’t happen. Since then a few other news show hosts and politicians have joined in with their own versions of revisionist histories. Here at the Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire, we are hardly in a position to cast the first (if any) stones, as our memory is hardly what it used to be.

Bob has his own journalistic follies to contend with.

Oh, Bob, you didn't really say that, did you?

Leave it to Mehitabel to keep things on track!

We’ll have to go to panda cam evidence to sort this story out!
But I think if Bob tried to “rescue” Pinky he would have “poofed” very quickly!!

Bob is still sure (well, almost sure) that he was there. His memory, to say the least, is a bit fuzzy.

Hmm, I’ve seen the Panda Cam footage of that night and I don’t recall seeing any other Giant Pandas besides Mei Xiang and Bao Bao … that’s not to say Bob wasn’t there as he could have been out of camera range 😉

Um…you…uh…must have missed that. better go back and watch again, and see if you get a glimpse of a mysterious panda rescuer. (Or you can save some time and read Wednesday’s cartoon when it appears.)

Oh, sorrowful days, Bob T. I wish you could climb the tree NOW and bring Pinky to her mom… It’s the way of the panna, of course, but I feel very very sad … :-(((

I wish I could climb up with Pinky too…well, except that I am afraid of heights…the way of the panna is not easy for humans to accept, but it is for the best. Of course, here in the land of Panda Satire, Pinky will always see her mom from time to time. It is the way of the panda satire, after all.

Oh yeah. I can just see the result of Bob trying to “rescue” Pinky from her Hemlock. One swipe of her magical wand and he would be calling himself “Roberta”.

Oh dear…that would be tragic! Well, stay tuned on Wednesday. This story is far from over.
