In the Tradition of Some of the Great…

…popular cartoonists who often used political themes and issues for their cartoons, I thought I’d share some of my more political ‘toons that have appeared over the years. Personally I’ve always thought that humor with a little bit of a bite to it (pandas have very sharp teeth) are funnier than ‘toons that are merely cute and sweet. It may be a bit presumptuous of me to put myself in the tradition of Doonesbury, Pogo, and Bloom County, But I have always been drawn to the somewhat snarky. Calvin and Hobbes is not usually overtly political, but he dealt with some big issues from time to time. They are my favorites!

Enjoy!

Scary that all these cartoons could have applied to (at least) every presidential election for the past 50 years!

Thanks for the giggles this morning Bob T. We are all worried about our Bei Bei being under the weather. We need this diversion.

      Yes we do!
As to Bei Bei, the SNZ has some of the best vets in the world, so we can be sure he is getting the best care possible. We will hope for the best, and being the great little guy that he is, I sure Bei Bei won’t mind if we have a few chuckles in the meantime.

Not at all presumtuous to compare Bob T Panda to the other great political cartoonists! Mehitabel ordering a “Trumpuchino” was clearly in the great tradition of Gillray’s “John Bull at Luncheon” where food is the metaphor for the inequitable consumption of public resources.

    Love it! Panda on.

Aw, shucks! Thank you. I did like the Trumpuchino cartoon, if I do say so myself. Also Pinky protesting the panda cam shut down. One of my all time faves, and maybe the inspiration for her to run for office. ?
