Fabulous Furry Friday

Today, Fabulous Furry Friday celebrates WOOZPAH* and all those who want to bring pandas to Washington State. Yesterday this news story crossed my path, thanks to alert pandanista Diana Sutton! I say go for it! Washington State NEEDS pandas. and while I would rather they be in Seattle, than Tacoma, It’s all a heck of a lot closer than any other pandas!

Woozppah!

I finally know the origins of WOOZPAH or WOOZPPAH! I too would prefer the black&white cuties to be in Seattle proper. However, unless Pinky has poofed her magic wand and restructured the geography around Phinney Ridge, the parking situation at the Woodland Park Zoo is the only thing about the location that remains in the previous century. In short, the parking is a nightmare on a good day now. I’ve never been to the Point Defiance Zoo, perhaps that location is not so landlocked. The neighbors in Seattle might have an uprising, they are so close.
I volunteer to be on the committee to support the cause, no matter what the intended location in Washington state.
And, how appropriate, I just received noticed that my copy of your new book, the 6th publication in The Panda Chronicles, will be delivered today. WooHoo. A day for celebration of things Panda all around.

Woot woot and huzzah! The Edinburgh Zoo has a similarly land locked/ high density residential location and they deal with it by having a reservation system for seeing the pandas. Woodland Park could have this too, plus encouraging metro to have special panda route buses. It could definitely be done. There is more parking at the zoo than it seems there used to be, just not on the street. But it is a reasonable price ($5.25 for all day)
I will try to find out more about this effort to bring pandas to Washington State. Heck, they could be on Whidbey Island. My neighbors at the bottom of the hill have out of control bamboo. This could be a win-win-lunch situation.

Thanks! I like to look at the older toons too, just to see if I was still funny back then. I guess I was! Pinky thinks that the world of pandas started with her, but I can tell her it didn’t.
BTW: I can’t remember who suggested that Babee Bubba should be the gohost of halloweens yet to come, and after some relflection, I have decided that they (whoever said it) is right. After all. What could be more terrifying than an adorable baby panda?

Just snorted out my drink when I came across “have you ever thought about what it’s like to be a fat guy in a fur coat in a Memphis summer?” Love how happy the two little ones look while they are being civic! 🙂

Pandas really enjoy being civic. Hope your keyboard survived the Memphis comment. Really, I should post a warning for every post about that.

I’m all for the black and white balls of fluff right here in WA!!!

Of course there is another Panda in the states, that no one seems to mention. I wonder why?
