On the 2nd Day of Crisp-Moss…

On the 2nd Day of Crisp-moss my panda cam did see…

I can't hear anyone singing.....

I can’t hear anyone singing…..

Observant panda fan Frances A. alerted me to this news story about the perfect Christmas gift for…ahem…me. And I agree. For $8.5 million, you should get to keep a panda.

Fa-la-la-la-la la la la la!
Be the bear!

I’m singing – so badly it would make a panda cringe, but it’s definitely a joyful noise! Can’t wait for the rest! And for PP to come down from her tree!

Singing is good, no matter how good you are. I bet Pinky is singing up in her tree, even as we speak. From what I read on FB this morning, she came down and went back up several times during the night. What a little stinker. I think her loot from Santa is definitely in jeopardy.

Thank you! Have you been following the drama in DC? Pinky is still refusing to come down from the tree, at least when anyone can grab her. Apparently she has come down at least three times, but then scooted right back up the tree.
I swear I had nothing to do with this. An astute reader suggested that she is waiting for Santa, perhaps with plans for a sleigh-jacking.

Yes we’ve been following the DC story. Apparently Pinky is down now. I thought she really was going to stay in the tree for the 12 Days of Crispmoss! I can totally see Pinky sleigh-jacking the reindeers and you just know the Meihems would be somewhere behind the scenes 🙂
Hope you’re having a lovely day.

I am having a lovely day and am very relieved her royal pinkness has come down from the tree. I spent a quiet morning making marmalade…I haven’t done is for years and we will see if it actually becomes jam instead of runny syrup. It tastes good anyway. I put a little on some leftover roast pork with rice. Yum!
          Dinner tonight with friends. Huzzah!

I love marmalade! Homemade even better. I haven’t made jams but I think it’s time to start.
            Enjoy dinner!
We had a great xmas day at the zoo.
We’ll be making cuppycakes and cookies today (Boxing Day) and visiting a few friends on Saturday and Sunday 🙂

We had a fabulous dinner. Osso Bucco (veal shanks, rather than lamb shanks), saffron risotto a’la Marcella Hazan, and apple tart tartin` for dessert. Huzzah!
My marmalade turned out a little syrupy, but it tastes fabulous. I looked up some more recipes in Joy of Cooking, and now have a little better gauge of sugar to liquid ratio.
Hope your boxing day and extended weekend were fun.

Saffron risotto sounds delicious. I’ll be making a saffron and apricot pilaff soon – I love rice. And tart tartin! Good luck with your next round of marmalade 🙂
